I wouldn't say he's the best, but he's definitely up there.

My favorite is probably Mara Jade or Thrawn.

Nom Anor is definitely Top 5 for me, and Vua Rapuung gets an honorable mention for being completely awesome in the two books he was in.

Nom Anor was awesome. He's probably the only EU character I wouldn't hesitate to put up there with Ganner.
And was Vua Rapuung the guy who killed that diplomat and was then killed by Corran? I don't seem to remember much of him =/ I might need to reread them books then.
Off the top of my head, two other characters I enjoyed from the NJO saga was the guy who helped Anakin free his blond girlfriend and the guy who was Han Solo's partner for a number of books.
Can't remember their names =(

Nah, Vua Rapuung was the second guy you're talking about, the one who helped Anakin free Tahiri. The one who looked like a Shamed One but actually wasn't. He was a complete badass. Especially at the end of the second book he was in.

"A salute to the Jeedai! A salute of blood!"

The guy who Corran killed was Shedao Shai. Droma was Han's temporary partner. At least I think that was his name.

Ganner's cool but I never considered him one of the best.

Edit: For some reason I was thinking Gavin Darklighter. Yeah Ganner is awesome. Traitor is one of the best Star Wars books.

Face and Ton are definitely great. Most of Wraith Squadron is. Even the fairly normal guys like Kell are cool.

Speaking of which, there's apparently another Wraith book being worked on.
