JLI on the otherhand, looks fun, but maybe not very approachable, and nothing to write home about. I'll probably follow it, but as the writeup says, you've got better stuff to grab.

Gotta say, I wonder if some preconceived notions on if a writer is good or not flavor perception of these previews. For example, I actually like the writing a lot more in that Detective Comics preview than the Aquaman preview, despite the other having the hyped writer. Seems kinda like people hated DTec before it even existed, what don't you guys like about it? Just curious.

It looks like a good book, I dig the hard boiled noir style it's going for, and that art is tremendous, a couple frames look very much Dark Knight Returns. Personally, this book looks solid to me. Certainly looks better than JLI, its kind of funny how characterless Batman comes across in JLI in comparison. But that's just my preferences there.

But yeah, I love noir, I love over-the-topness, I love Miller, etc. "I own the night.", that is badass as hell.

Looking forward to Wednesday, and hell yeah Batgirl.

Noir and some cheese go together beautifully. The best Batman classics have a nice slice of cheese on 'em, like a good burger. Hell, the classic film noir flicks have some great cheese. Personal taste I guess.

Everybody has different taste of course, and I know there's no point arguing everything, but. Generic, really? Again, especially under those JLI panels, it just seems like an odd observation to make.

And Image style, not really sure what that means, wouldn't Batman with Spawn's Greg Capullo be the more "Image style"? Not that that's a bad thing, Image is my fav publisher.

Generic, yeah, I understand why you would think that art looks fantastic, but once you read a ton of comic books and really get to see the best of the artwork out there, then you'll see that Tony Daniel's art really isn't anything special. His style isn't unique at all.

Miguel Sepulveda is really good at drawing big things in a big way, so it's only appropriate he be the artist for a book that starts out with the antagonist being the f***ing moon. He's heavy on the ink which works great for his style, and if you can ignore a handful of occasionally distorted faces, he's the perfect match for Stormwatch.

I am psychic.

It's a throw back to Golden Age Superman, where he was essentially a socialist defender of the people. You have to remember, in the new continuity, Ma and Pa Kent died before they could really guide how Clark used his powers, so he's still going to be very unsure of himself now, even if he doesn't show it with the cocky face he puts on. He doesn't know his limits, or when he's taking it to far. I'm a big fan of it, and look forward to the 28th when we see what he acts like in modern times. Remember, Action an JL take place in the past for now, where Superman is at most in his early 20s, so we only have one book showcasing his modern self (other than his various minor cameos already announced in books like Supergirl and Swamp Thing).

Morrison is probably the most talented man left writing comics, but that doesn't mean other writers can't craft a better story than Morrison on any given book. Not sure if Sweet Tooth is better than any recent Morrison book, but it's still possible that Animal Man might be one of the best new DC books.

Oh, wait. Joe the Barbarian. Sweet Tooth is better than that.

I can barely afford Netflix. 10 buck a month in comics is more than I can afford. I tend to just find one series I like and stick with it until I get tired of it (Astonishing X-men Whedon run, and currently Runaways).

That was a cheap shot, and untrue, I like good stories as well. My problem was probably lack of interest in Superboy, he doesn't appeal to me unless he's with other superheroes. Alone he's boring to me for some reason I don't know why. Hopefully the new version will be more fun or something.

No, my main reason was because I don't give a crap about the supporting characters, I couldn't grow to like them in the slightest. I do also like superheroes to be superheroes and not "waah my life sucks I have all this power but I wanna be a normal person waah waah WAAH." I seriously hate characters like that.
