At first, I thought the game was just okay. Now I think it's so mediocre that I can't help but want to call it terrible.
I thought I only had 6 assassinations to perform, but checking a guide, it looks like I've still got a few more to go. Man, and I thought this crapfest was almost over!
I'm already having a really hard time believing AC2 is going to change my opinion of the series since AC has messed it up pretty good so far.

MarvelousGerbil posted... If you don't like it you can always just not play it... I don't get why people feel like they have to beat every game they buy.
So true, but for some reason, I have a hard time doing that.

DeathChicken posted... You guys exaggerate. Game was average, but nothing overly terrible
That's pretty much what I'm saying. You play the entire game in the first two hours. Then you play it again except in different cities and your assassination targets have different names.
The game is so average that it starts to feel bad since there is no variation after the first couple of hours, unless you count things like being allowed to use your dodge skill again (not sure how your rank as an assassin correlates to your ability to use skills you already know).

AC1 was a let down. Tedious as hell, lackluster combat, etc. I give it like a 5.5/10. Don't give up on the series though. People aren't exaggerating when they say AC2 is far superior. AC2 is my favorite 360 game. Everything was fixed. Everything is better. I couldn't believe the improvements.
I played the first one for a couple hours before I realized that I didn't like it. After hearing that the 2nd was way better I played it and loved it. Very good game imo. The sidequests have kept me pretty busy too, they're a lot of fun. Pretty close to finishing it now.
You've done 6 assassinations? Okay, you should just stop right now and play AC2. You've seen everything AC1 has to offer, you will gain nothing by playing through the end. Even the story is pretty much summed up at the beginning of AC2.
well, I'd say at least watch the very ending of AC1 on youtube before going to AC2, but I'm one of those people that stuck through AC1 because I don't mind repetition that much.
I actually did finish the first one before moving on to the second. I think playing the first one is really helping me to enjoy AC2 even more. I'm not far into it yet, but I'm having fun even doing all the side missions (which I don't normally bother with).
