So almost donw with YGO: Duel Monsters. Not gonna bother watching the later series anytime soon, but perhaps I'd watch that first short one and has never aired outside of Japan. Anyone know if it's any good?

Yeah. It's really sad that I've been watching the dubbed version of YGO. I found out pretty far into it that there's a big difference between the dub and the original series, and the original series just seems so much more awesome. Maybe I should read a bit about the animes before starting. Did the same thing with One Piece so I watched the first 30 episodes of it dubbed. Though I really didn't mind that, FUNimation have done well.
Now talking about One Piece. Zoro and Wiper just made the jack tilt for Luffy and Nami to get to Enel. Skypiea surely has been a long arc.

Yeah pretty much same case with me. YGO is another show that 4kids tuned down like hell, to think that it was originally rated T for teen. But the dubbed version is at least pretty good as well.
And I'm not going through 224 episodes of the same story again.

So they finally get down on the sea again. Of course the straw hats don't get to take a break, as they're spotted by marines right when they get down.
NEW TOP 20 ONE PIECE CHARACTERS RANKING!:
20 - Johnny (Too bad Yosaku you just missed it. With episode 135 I remembered how funny these two are, and Johnny was definetely the cooler one in that episode.)
19 - Enel (One badass villain with awesome design, and making that survival game? This man should be awarded.)
18 - Dorry (Laugh cracked me up every time, what a brave guy)
17 - Brogy (Laugh cracked me up every time, what a brave guy. He's above Dorry for his extra screentime when we thought Dorry was dead.)
16 - Wiper (This guy has one of the strongest will powers seen yet, he rocked the whole survival game for me, too bad that I'm doubting to see him again.)
15 - Buggy (Well Buggy is always great for a laugh and villain with humor are needed too, just wish he could actually find Luffy soon, I've been waiting since Lougetown.)
14 - Shanks (Loved him since episode 4, the few short scenes with him afterwards were great, but hope to see him in action soon.)
13 - Mihawk (Well yeah, loved the episode with him fighting Zoro, and he also had his badass attitude in the few other episodes that featured him.)
12 - Carue (Everyone's favorite crazy, scared, drinking fast and awesome duck.)
11 - Ace (Was goddaamn awesome when he was there, sadly it mostly seemed like filler, great filler that is though, I also loved how he acted on Buggys ship.)
10 - Mr. 2 Bon Kurei (Was hillarious in all his appearences, never thought he could display friendship like that though, just didn't see it coming, really hope to see him again.)
9 - Smoker (Badass awesome marine, and the marines usually suck, with a few decnt marines too. Also loved scene after Luffy ordered Zoro to save him.)
8 - Vivi (Her devolpment throughout the Alabasta arc was great, and she ended it with a scene that could have brought tears out of me hadn't it been for a spoiling opening.)
7 - Usopp (Still hillarious, but has lacked his top brave moments and good fights lately so he gets down a bit. Sorry dudes, but I hear he gets even better!)
6 - Robin (She's awesome to say the least, but it seems like we haven't seen all of her yet, so she's still an unexplored and interesting character.)

5 - Nami (Always goes up and down for me, mostly down cause of her lust for money. Improved when she preferred the lives of the straw hats over gold though. Her fight with Doublefinger was still best, but her actions in Skypiea really made me like her, as I haven't really since Arlong and her one big fight, with the latter lasting short.)
4 - Chopper (So goddamn adorable. I love how he's trying his best to be brave and show himself worthy to the crew. A bit disappointed in how long he remained unconscious after a single hit from Ohm though.)
3 - Sanji (Again lacked a good fight, but is awesome enough to stay high. His actions after he woke up and went up to save Nami along with Usopp rocked.)
2 - Luffy (First of all hillarious as hell. Secondly he brings awesome fights, he has some will power and I love it when he gives out his strong opinions about pirates, flag and dreams.)
1 - Zoro (My favorite fights has been his fights. Ever since episode 2 and 3, which was when I already knew that this was a show for me, I've loved Zoro. His has his funnny moments too, and his huge loyalty to Luffy and his decisions is definetely a plus too.)

I'm so happy whenever Zonge shows up. I always think they're just throwing him in for filler as a quick laugh, but then when I go back and check the manga after each episode I see that he was there

and if I recall they were just starting Thriller Bark when I started watching
It was the opening Jungle P that convinced me to start watching One Piece because I actually didn't know before then that One Piece had any fighting in it. For some reason I didn't think there was any and it was just about adventuring.
I just started watching it one day along with YGO, as I thought "These two are shows, everyone should at least give a shot." After episode 1 I thought "This show seems alright" After episode 2 I thought "Whoa this is really good!" After episode 3 I thought "This is goddamn awesome!" After episode 4 I was already convinced that I'd watch all of it.

That rocked. But I remember Coby annoyed me a bit the first episode. Probably because he just took time from Luffy, who was far more interesting there, as I knew nothing about him yet.

I also remember I was a bit confused at first, cause I searched for the english opening on youtube, and got to the 4kids rap thing, then when I started watching a much better opening was there.
