During the last seconds where Jake is undergoing the body transfer; Does he open his eyes in the original release? I could have sworn he didn't the first time I saw it. That it was left for the viewer to decide. I saw it two times since, and he opens his eyes in the last moment. I actually prefer the former, but which was the original ending?

Hmm, okay. I thought it might have been altered to a different ending to please more people. I went like a year thinking he didn't. Maybe I blinked and missed it =/
