Board 8 > Are GFaqs platinum accounts ever going back on sale?

I really want to be able to lurk the private boards and get LUE access because I missed out on open enrollment, I know that it's a feature bundled with platinum access.

I went and got bitcoins specifically for this, do you think they'll open it up again or is the only hope to buy an account that already has it?

Platinum account registration opens up at the beginning of each contest usually, but last year it happened a few months earlier than that. I bought a 3 year membership, so mine is still going thankfully. Although, I mostly just use for the free moderation passes. Still have like 5 left.

Now that I'm not a failure at life and I can trust myself to keep my priorities in check I feel bad that I closed all my old LUE-able accounts.
I'd still do it again in that situation mind you, but that doesn't mean I don't miss 'em.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Platinum accounts get a discount on the site's anniversary? You might want to wait until then, unless it's already passed I don't even know when it is.

It's really not bad, especially if you're speculating on the bitcoin market anyway. I made enough for my account in a couple days, I just don't like having to set the funds aside.

FD, its a GFaqs platinum account, what's to go in-depth about? LUE access, ability to view but not post on all private boards, ability to see and type colored text, and I can't remember the rest of the goodies but it is totally worth it.

Well, I think the conflict is with people who want avatars for everyone. Which I agree with, the current avatar system is pretty bad.

I had platinum for a year, but it didn't really seem worth it to me.

Allen mentioned a while ago that he wanted to add more "value" to platinum accounts, so maybe he's been working on some new features. As it is now, it's not for me, though I can understand why a lot of people like it.

I'd consider getting one myself, but Allen pulled a real **** move with that "cold storage" thing back in july, completely removing people's Platinum Privileges cuz god forbid you stop coming to the site for a while.

Won a year membership on an alt account in one of the raffles but it got banned, gah. Really, banning GuessMyUserASS for impersonation when it was GMUN endorsed? You wound me, gamefaqs ;_;

Regular Gamefaqs is like going through life blindfolded with earplugs in. Then you go platinum and boom, no more worrying about getting modded, no worries about images, you can do essentially what you want, when you want.

^You're platinum status puts you on a preferred list so the only things you get "moderated" for are blatant pr0n or obvious ToU violations but you will never lose karma for the moderations.

And obviously there is a significant boost to your karma that comes with platinum status. I don't have it so idk how much karma they bump you up to but I'd assume 1500?
