Sigma/Shadowlord/G. Noir/Horrigan/Shang/Garner have challenged KOS/Dante/Ridley/Snake/Axl to a fight! Location of the fight: neutral, nondescript terrain. Which side will win?
Guidelines
- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.
Rules for Voting
- Bold your votes (using and ).
- Provide a justification for why you think the selected team would win. Fanboy logic, ignoring character assumptions or rules, and vague or unintelligible justifications are all grounds for having your vote disqualified.
- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.
- This match will end in 24 hours.
Shang Tsung is as he appears in the Mortal Kombat series, in his young form. The only souls (and thus, transformations) he has are those of shadowlord, horrigan, garner, kos-mos, snake, and axl, which are exactly as they appear in the fight, and those of Spy (from TF2, with Dead Ringer; if he manages to physically insert most of his blade into anyone else's back he will cause a fatal wound that cannot be healed), Max Payne (with his MP5, Sniper Rifle, M4 Carbine, Desert Eagle, Striker, and Molotovs as well as a full bullet time meter and 3 painkillers), and Travis (from No More Heroes). He can be in each state for up to 20 seconds, continuous or on-and-off.
Daniel Garner is as he appears in Painkiller and its expansion, wearing the heavy set of armor and armed with all his weapons. He cannot turn into a demon. He has the Silver Cards health regeneration and forgiveness, a Quad Damage (somehow), and the Gold Cards haste, double time bonus, and rebirth equipped. The Silver last the whole fight, Quad lasts 30 seconds, and the Gold lasts for 30/50 seconds. Each of the Gold Cards and Quad can be activated at will.
Sigma is as he appears in the Mega Man X series. Specifically, he's in his reaper and belial forms. All forms must be defeated, and he can change at will between them somehow, with each form's condition exclusive to itself. At no point is he invincible. Sigma has incited a robot rebellion during his match. All robotic fighters, allied or enemy, will be driven mad and will become greatly bloodlusted, attacking allies or enemies as they see fit, even if it's their fellow robot. Robots from any Mega Man series are not affected.
The Shadowlord appears as he does in NieR, possessing all attacks displayed in all three phases of his fight.
Grimoire Noir appears as it does in its second fight in NieR.
Frank Horrigan is as seen in Fallout 2 with his End Boss Plasma Gun and End Boss Knife.
KOS-MOS is as she appears in Xenosaga 1, though she does not have access to Gate, Satellite, or S-Chain. She's strictly in her Red Eyes form, has access to only her techs as well as Shion's transferable ones minus Revert, all her weapons save for F-SCYTHE, and is in her best non-broken equipment.
Dante is as he appears in DMC4, though he does not have his canon regen. He may access Devil Trigger for up to 10 seconds every 5 minutes, and he does not have Pandora or Yamato.
Omega Ridley is as he appears in his Metroid Prime 3: Corruption boss fight.
Axl is as he appears in Mega Man X8, in his White Axl form. He has access to the DNA cores from that one game, as well as access to all his Command Mission transformations save for Mad Nautilus. He has all his X8 weapons save for Copy Shot and A Trance, and he does not have any other powerups or items. He does not have access to his Hyper Mode.
Old Snake is as he appears in Metal Gear Solid 4, though he does not suffer from his self-destructive FOXDIE issues. He is equipped with his Stun Knife, suppressed Operator, Five-SeveN, fully upgraded M4 Custom, Mk. 46 Machine Gun, DSR-1 Sniper Rifle, MGL-140 with a full supply of all non-emotion forms of grenades, C4, Stinger, Solar Gun, Rail Gun, THOR .45-70, and The Patriot. He also has access to his Solid Eye, Octocamo, Nanomachine Syringe, Facecamo with a copy of every mercenary on the field, the latest issue of Playboy, cigarette packet, a cardboard box, and stealth camo.
KOS-MOS will probably aim for the biggest threat on the field - thats Dante
her team can either stop her or let him destroy them, and that means stopping kosmos. So assuming her team kills her before she finishes Dante off, he's still hurt.
I don't know much about anyone on the other team enlighten me and stuff

actually, Axl's background is now "She is an Earthborn with a Ruthless psychological profile, as seen in Mass Effect 2.", according to her wiki page. I guess you could argue that she no longer counts as a megaman robot

Way to selectively quote and leave out the critical part of the writeup.
Axl is as she appears in Mega Man X8, in her White Axl form. She has access to the DNA cores from that one game, as well as access to all her Command Mission transformations save for Mad Nautilus. She has all her X8 weapons save for Copy Shot and A Trance, and she does not have any other powerups or items. She does not have access to her Hyper Mode. She is an Earthborn with a Ruthless psychological profile, as seen in Mass Effect 2.

Alright, well, KOS-MOS wanting to kill everyone is probably going to cause severe problems for her team. Nothing else, it'll keep Dante busy, and with those two occupied, Team Sigma is a hell of a lot more impressive. Sigma needs to die twice (and Belial Sigma is a laser spamming pain), Garner is about as dumb as ever, Shang is copying Garner, Horrigan is very big and tanky, and I know jack all about Shadowlord, but he's apparently very fast and flies. Kind of smokes the non-Dante, non-KOS MOS portion of the other side

Axl is as she appears ... in Mass Effect 2.

You beat yourself up with your past. Don't blame yourself, blame the world. Blame God. Blame me.
KOSMOS begins the match by trying to take out Dante, maybe is successful maybe isn't. Her team needs to stop her with dante alive or they're all screwed, so they have to prioritize her asap. The downside is this gives Team Sigma a giant opening, which they'll definitely take. Dante will survive KOSMOS, but he'll be hurt and easily dispatched by Sigma and Garner. I take Double Healthbar Sigma/Speedy Garner with x4 damage/Shadowlord/Shang mimicking Garner/Horrigan over the remnants of team dante.

mm...I don't buy KOS-MOS going for Dante right at the beginning. Doing that just leads to trouble for her (as you've pointed out). She's attacking as she sees fit, and she probably sees fit to begin by attacking the immediate threats -- i.e., the ones actually attacking her, Team Sigma.
-- another place and time, without a great divide, and we could be flying deadly high
Problem being, she hates everyone equally, and Team Sigma's farther away than the people hanging around beside her. There's no real reason for her to go after the targets that are harder to reach

She hates everyone equally, and at the beginning no one is attacking her. Dante is clearly the biggest threat, and she's bloodlusted so she won't mind started the conflict.

i'd say the GIANT ****ING DRAGON would be the biggest threat

Based on past experience, though, she knows that Dante/etc. aren't going to be attacking her from the start. She hates them but they're still useful tools. The other side hates her and is immediately hostile.
Personality, or what passes for personality in KOS-MOS, also plays a major role here. If someone like Barret gets reploid revolution'd, then yeah he probably just starts shooting everything in sight in no particular order. KOS-MOS, on the other hand, would compute the optimal path to her end goal (everyone else dead) based upon all the data available to her, which includes her teammates not attacking her.

Yeah, I'm seeing Bloodlusted as 'Bloodlusted', not 'Bloodlusted, but maintaining enough rationality to selectively remember who has or hasn't tried to hurt me before'
Particularly when KOS-MOS in her *sane* form was the type to shoot right through people ostensibly on her side in order to achieve a goal

let me put this in words even the dumbest person can understand:
KOSMOS is bloodlusted. The first person KOSMOS will lay her eyes on will be on the other team. addition: Dante will wipe the floor with KOSMOS if she tries anything funny, considering he starts right beside her.
If this was Sigma/Shadowlord/Horrigan/Shang/Garner/KOSMOS vs. Dante/Ridley/Snake/Axl, Dante is still damn good enough to win. He is that insane. He is sublime. He is the king of battle mercs. The fact that KOSMOS starts on my side, facing the enemy team, would make bloodlust meaningless. She will get destroyed if she turns around and attacks my team for some esoteric reason. Dante can physically kick her face off.
Dante is insane enough to kick several attacks, have them precisely ricochet off of trees and each other, and accurately hit that baddie in the face.
And this is Dante when he's "playing around". In an actual fight with stakes (life or death), he's dead serious.
The fact that you think KOSMOS is even on a level comparable to Dante is just laughable. This isn't even considering that KOSMOS is still on my team. When someone is berserk, they tend to barrel forward without any rational thinking. She's marching straight forward to attack your team (she sees them first, they are an enemy)
let's not even argue if she tries to Leeroy Jenkins rush Dante of all people. She won't even HIT him.

KOS-MOS goes nuts attacking things. Eventually she goes after Dante.
Dante loves a forward woman, so as she advances on him he opens with a little foreplay. The gawkers (ie all the other combatants) are killed through collateral damage.
Dante eventually gets serious with KOS-MOS and rams it in. And in the end, we are all satisfied.
Team Dante

Anyway, without taking the abilities into account, the second team looks more impressive than the first. After taking into abilities into account, I'm leaning towards the first team.
kp: The problem is that KOSMOS is attacking the other team simply because this is neutral, flat terrain. The teams start off facing each other. The fact that she will tunnel vision heavily implies that KOSMOS will attack the other team.
If she tries to attack someone to her side or behind her, that wouldn't make sense. Being in close combat with someone like Dante is a deathwish for someone like KOS-MOS. She literally jobbed to one bullet from Shion. From a pistol.
Man I love me some Dante but the problem is if KOS-MOS doesn't go after Dante she is going to wreck her team, and if she does go after Dante I think Dante wins that but Dante is going to be in some brutal trouble while doing it, and its going to be 6-3 while he does it.
I'd pay tickets for KOS-MOS vs Dante normally, but that's a problem for Silver's team. Either KOS-MOS owns her own team or his two best mercs are stuck in combat for a damn long time against each other. Neither is favorable.
Oh, not to mention Shang can turn into KOS-MOS himself and do some major, major damage. So that's not good at all.
Basically ability gives Tom the win.
