We don't have a trashcan down here because even if we did, because there's really no room to put one, so we have to walk all the way upstairs to dispose of trash. Which means we just leave it on the floor until we go upstairs for some reason, but even then, we often forget to grab something to throw away and it just keeps piling up.
Solution: Hang a plastic bag on a doorknob/anywhere and throw the trash in there. When it's full, take it upstairs and dispose of it.

I'm quite neurotic when it comes to things being tidy and clean. My friends often say I have a nanny complex. I make sure my room is always in order, and all trash is disposed of ASAP. I keep a miniature trashcan in my room as well to get rid of anything small that shows up in the moment (post-its, used tissue papers, etc.).

It's cool guys, I got home and we cleaned the entire room, well we're still working on it, with all of her clothes and crap, it's a lot worse than I've ever had to handle before. But oh man, I'm so happy right now, I rearranged everything too, got rid of a crappy couch that was taking up a lot of space, moved my bed back, moved my dresser back, so now my TV is pretty much by myself with its stand, and it's a lot nicer, I always hated my dresser being right next to my beautiful TV. This set up is just way better now, more space, and I'm of course gonna get a trash can now, I just need to decide where best to put it.

Aaaand that's about it. I'm gonna reorganize my games and blu-rays as well, MAN this feels SO GOOD. My only problem is the god damn wires, there's so many of them. I hate wires. There's no way to make them look pretty, but I actually did manage to do something. It's not a horrible disaster of wires anymore, I can actually pick them out, I still need to think of what to do with some other things though. Overall it's looking really good.

Once every week to once every few weeks. Depends on how quickly it becomes a mess again.

Now once I had a roommate who never cleaned and made the room an absolute mess in no time flat, so I had to clean every couple days. So really I guess I just wait for it to start becoming unsightly before I clean.

Bathrooms are kept pretty clean. Kitchen comes and goes, we have been historically poor about dishes, though I've washed them every day since the baby came, I don't see myself dropping that any time soon. Living room mostly clean, maybe a little clutter on an end table, but it's nice and clean.

Dining room gets a bit of mail and shopping debris. Basement "man cave" gets a little bit of clutter from wires and electronics and boxes. The big problem down there is the spider population. I go to work and come home and it's crawling with spiders, you have to vacuum them up on a weekly basis. I don't mind but my wife hates it.

Laundry side of the basement is mostly piles of boxes of old stuff. It's not bad, but we could clear out a lot of space. Garage... completely loaded with old stuff we need to get rid of. One of the bedrooms is in similar shape. The other one is the nursery and it's in great condition, and our bedroom is fine though we do have dirty clothes on the floor most of the time.

Our breezeway is cluttered but it's all useful stuff like strollers and shoes and umbrellas and whatever outdoor tools we're using that week. It's more of a mudroom than a breezeway tbh.

My bed is a problem now too, as we've been sharing a twin size bed since she moved in, and of course it's small, but it used to be between the couch and the wall, so there was no problem of falling off the end, but now it's in a more open area, so it's even less comfortable. Hoping to get a new bed soon, I'm just gonna have to use my financial aid money to do it, but oh well, that's what it's there for.
