Board 8 > How you do guys balance out playing unbeatable games and going through backlog?

I'm a person that really enjoys games that are basically unbeatable (Yume Nikki, TF2, Starcraft), but I enjoy going through a single player game just as much. This causes a problem where I want to play a game but can't decide which to play quite often.

How do you handle it?

Play the unbeatable game a lot for a week. Get bored and probably never touch it again.

Black Turtle did a pretty good job.

I'll play my unbeatable(WoW, LoL, etc) for shorter periods of time but more often.

With single player games, I tend to sort of marathon them over a short period.

The trouble comes up when I try to shuffle in replaying of older games. That tends to push my backlog way back.

I tend to replay games very rarely. They tend to be games I can beat rather quickly, too.

i play the games i want to play when i have the time to play them

never really given it any more thought than that

Backlog takes priority, unbeatable games are stuffed in for relatively short periods when I'm in the mood.

No way I'll play unbeatable games unless it's with friends in the same room. Too much time, too little reward.

I do occasionally play strategy games by myself though, if they have a story mode.

The only real exception to this is Civilization. Every game you play of Civ feels like an epic story by itself, so it works out.
