Zack has challenged Sephiroth to a fight! Location of the fight: neutral, nondescript terrain. Which side will win?
Guidelines
- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.
Rules for Voting
- Bold your votes (using and ).
- Provide a justification for why you think the selected team would win. Fanboy logic, ignoring character assumptions or rules, and vague or unintelligible justifications are all grounds for having your vote disqualified.
- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.
- This match will end in 24 hours.
Zack is as he appears in Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core. He has the Buster Sword and is bringing along defensive magic, command, and independent materia. All his limits are maxed, and the only limits he has access to are Chain Slash, Octaslash, Rush Assault, Meteor Shots, Lucky Stars, and Apocalypse. Zack can use the Healing Wave limit once in the battle. Immediately after its use, he will be invincible for 5 seconds.
Sephiroth is as he appears in Final Fantasy 7 and the Kingdom Hearts series (minus his Heartless Angel technique), with his legendary sword Masamune, limited teleportation, and access to his FFVII PC form magic. He may not use his Bizarro or Safer forms (or their magic), and no, he doesn't have Supernova. Sephiroth will be surrounded by an invisible barrier with a 20ft radius. No attacks from outside the barrier can harm Sephiroth; they will instead bounce off (or, in the case of explosions, explode with all of the force magically getting deflected away from the barrier). Sephiroth cannot attack anything outside the barrier. Anything happening inside the barrier is game, and the barrier will move with Sephiroth. Zack can freely pass through the barrier.
Didn't Sephiroth win, actually? Memory is a bit hazy admittedly.

Zack won, but Sephiroth didn't have all his KH powers. His teleportation spam and rad KH techniques should be enough to turn the tide this time around.
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
Seph is also a dick and will abuse the barrier should Zack attempt any non melee offense. Stuff like meteor shots for instance is all but useless here.

Zack got his ass handed to him in every rewrite of their fight (they rewrote it 5 times) and Sephiroth is even stronger here. Zack doesn't have a ghost of a chance.

Okay, I looked it up. It's a little of both in Crisis Core. They go up to the scene where Zack confronts Seph at Jenova's chamber, and then there's a retconned in boss fight, Zack vs Sephy. Zack wins there, but Seph doesn't seem phased and breaks the floor beneath them. Then there's a second boss fight vs Seph, that you must win before Seph shoves you off of the Mako bridge (or you get a nonstandard game over where Seph kills Zack)
Winning that leads to a cutscene, where Zack gets away from the bridge shoving problem by jumping over Seph and blade locking him, but then Seph tosses him hella far like Mr. T. Cue Cloud running up, and then everything's kind of as it was from there

We are thought, and reality, and concept, and the unimaginable
From: Lopen | #010 But for what it's worth Zack gets a free healing wave + invincibility here. The eye of the tiger is strong in this one.
Yeah, he basically has two lives. It is a very pimp fight, you gotta admit.
