Yeah, that's usually a bad sign when it goes so fast.

I think it's lack of end-game content that caused this game to fail as a P2P.

How good is character customisation? Scope for unusual power sets? Don't really care about endgame content (or any game content, for that matter, I just want to make a hero and run (or preferably fly) around the city with them, then start again with a new character idea)

City of Heroes and Champions should be great for messing around with odd heroes, but both are utterly crippled unless you subscribe. Which is not a good way to lure me into becoming a paying customer but hey, their loss.

Not yet, but it will be as of the next update. Barely even playable if you don't pay though- limited power selection and only 2 character slots. Not even 2 per server, just 2. Experimentation will NOT be permitted unless you pay for it.

Reading the article, it doesn't mention whether the Green Lantern stuff is included with the free "base" package. Possible dealbreaker detected.

I guess it depends on whether that was an upgrade to "current gameplay" or if it was a DLC pack.

It should be free come tomorrow, I believe.

And you're limited only 2/10 Archetypes, so it isn't that big of a deal. You also get two characters, but why do you need more than that if you plan on trying it out?
