I'm looking for something part-time, but I really don't want to work with food or in any type of grocery store... I don't think I'd mind being in general retail, but I want something a bit more... interesting.

The prospect of working in a place that sells all kinds of weird stuff seems cool, but I'm just apprehensive to apply because I'm not sure how much they'd expect me to know about butt plugs and leather.

never done it but I think it probably sounds like much more fun than it actually is, retail - dealing with customers in particular, is already a pretty ****y line of work and working at an unusual place like that guarantees you'll get a lot of degenerate crazies

Well whether it was by choice or not... I definitely feel like a deviant these days. I guess I'm actually educated on a lot of the things they deal with, even though I'm not personally into it... since I do tend to read a lot. And I'm extremely open-minded.

I would leave this bit of work history out of your resume if you did this. A friend of mine worked at a porn store for a summer between college and after that each time he put them as a reference he didnt get an interview at all.

But that being said, it was certainly interesting for him. Especially when people he knew came in. The only awkward parts are when someone......propositions you.

Oh, and also you have to turn on all the vibrators when someone buys them to make sure they work. Apparently the women get an extremely horrified look on their faces.
