he had a 70 yard td run (and 30 yards on a scramble after we blew up a trick play), that's gonna artificially bloat his numbers

and he's still 23 years old and one of the most explosive players in the league

i don't see anybody mentioning the raiders allowing 32 year old LT to catch a short pass and take it 80 yards

Uh, yes they do. They were expected to regress a bit without Asomugha, but the Raiders have had a defense ranked in the Top 8-10 for at least 5 years.

So my fears about Brady/Ochocinco are true, that Ochocinco is really dumb and Brady hates him. I guess it was pretty obvious when Brady was pining for Moss in the media, but I was holding out hope that Ochocinco just needs a few weeks to "get it".

Branch was either taken away or he had a sucky week, not sure. I'm guessing the Bills took him out, which led to Brady trying to make downfield tosses to Edelman (it's been a while since that was a good idea) and Woodhead. They have enough talent on O that they really don't need to be doing that sorta thing.

A few bad breaks and one terrible pass by Brady, bound to catch up with him. Pats really need a legit wideout if Branch is going to be absent like that.

The defense... that's just brutal. They're so thin that they just can't afford any injuries. They can't rush, they can't cover, and with Chung out, the secondary struggles to make tackles. What's the limit for this team... 12-4 and either a division title and first round loss (any of the top teams in the AFC can beat the Pats in the postseason because they have NO defense aside from Wilfork), or maybe 11-5 and hope they catch a first rounder against a team with no defense? It's nice to have a good team and the best QB and all that but it's tough knowing every year that you don't have the defensive personnel to do much in the playoffs. And they're probably 2 years away from having a better coverage in place. blech.

On the bright side it's nice to see the Bills being legit competitive.

Serious proposal:

There should be a rule that refs are not allowed to throw a flag more than five seconds after an infraction occurs. If it takes more than five seconds for you to throw the flag, you're obviously only doing it because someone is whining about there not being one, which should never be done.
