You know how sometimes you get a pack of crisps with much more flavouring on it than normal? Well the one I had at lunch today was about twice as strong as that. And it was extremely salty, so when I got back to the office I spent most of the afternoon drinking water.

It's now about nine hours later, I've had a proper, non-salty meal, loads of water, and I'm still thirsty. I think McCoys may have poisoned me.

If something was really so salty that it could literally kill me I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to eat it anyway!

This report showed a woman died six to seven hours after ingesting 45-60 grams of salt. She was obese, but I don't know how much of a factor that was.

My guess is "probably a pretty big factor actually".

unless you've had a seizure this afternoon, i don't think you have to worry about hypernatremia
