I love that we've heard absolutely nothing from Capcom about this. Guess they don't want people to make the mistake of thinking they care about God Hand.
Wonder just how good that inFamous 2 expansion will be. The game is incredible but the expansion just seems kind of wonky and silly. I guess if they get in enough of the main game it should be fine, though. Hopefully there are some new powers....
I assume this is through emulation, which would mean that they totally could add BC back in if they wanted. there was talk of them working on a PS2 emulator like a year back. hard to know for sure though.
At launch, maybe? It sounds like God Hand is coming out this month on PSN, so you might be able to go on PSN when Vita comes out and download whatever is available, assuming it works on Vita. Also, the "PS2 Classics" or whatever might end up being the Oct. 5th announcement Sony was teasing last week --
rear touch pad for l2/r2? that's kinda gross. they should have two sets to be standard with PS2 and HD remakes. I wonder how that works with MGS2/3 or other action games.
That would probably sacrifice the design of the Vita. It would make it bigger and bulkier to add a second set of triggers, probably. I think most games will be fine, with the exception of maybe those that use L2/R2 as their "main" buttons. I'm thinking about shooters here, but I don't know if any PS2 shooters made use of the second triggers. That was an era when square could be a shooting button. It'll probably work itself out -- the PSP didn't have an alternative to L2/R2 either.
that's like saying 'the 3ds doesn't have a second analog stick'! I'm thinking of ps3/vita games going forward. let's say mgs5 is on ps3 and vita -- how does the Vita version handle that?
Developers will be able to adjust how the controls work with Vita games, though. It's trickier with PS2 games, but I wouldn't expect many issues to arise otherwise. But for MGS games L2/R2 are typically only used for opening the item / weapon menus. Tapping the back on the touchpad should be fine for something like that.
These will apparently be available tomorrow when PSN updates. Destructoid is also saying they'll be priced at $9.99. Nice, if so!
"Also starting tomorrow as part of Only On PSN, well also be offering a selection of rare classic games in the PlayStation Store: God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red."
P3P is already available on PSN, but that's only playable on the PSP. No reason both can't be on there, it's not as though they conflict with each other.
