Demon's Souls is the much better game.

I can't stop playing it, but I had way more fun with the first one. We'll see what happens.

While I understand the appeal, and though I don't really dislike how it's done in Dark Souls, I've never been partial to open-world games. I prefer most games structured into levels. That's not a big deal, though. It's actually done fine.

The real thing that bugs me is how long it's taking to find respectable equipment. I got the Drake Sword and that's the only thing I have that can do a decent amount of damage. Everything else is barely in the double digits.

I remember taking a really long time to beat Demon's Souls the first time I played it, but on subsequent playthroughs, I breezed through it. I wonder if it will be the same with this game, but I'm not sure since, at least in the early game, I have been at such a severe disadvantage as far as weapons are concerned.

I know spells and miracles were somewhat costly in the first game, but I haven't found any place that will even give me enough souls to buy them without dedicating hours to grinding.

Same thing goes for upgrading equipment. It seems unlikely to happen at this point.

Perhaps things will change once I ring the second bell. I'm working on getting past those ghosts at the moment, though. Not working out so well.

Demon's Souls online thing really doesn't even matter that much. It's a single player game with some added multiplayer stuff. It's completely enjoyable if you play by yourself.

None of what you said seems bad. Considering how broken upgrades were in Demon's Souls, spacing them out is probably a good idea.

I wonder if you have played it yet. Before I got the Drake Sword, I was doing about 13 damage to each enemy and those enemies had 100+ hp. It gets aggravating especially considering how frequently deaths occur in this game, forcing you to fight through everything again. It would have been nice to find something a little better a little sooner.

I like Dark Souls better. Some of those surprise moments are just hilarious (which Demons Souls kind of lacked)

Though, the online aspect is kind funky, because no one seems to be alive long enough to get invaded, lol.

What weapon and how long into the game until you got that weapon? I'm one-hitting most regular-sized enemies now with the Drake Sword, but it took a while to get that weapon, which almost nobody would have discovered on their own if the internet didn't tell them.

I'm a Wanderer. It's what I started as in Demon's Souls so I went with it again. Though in Demon's Souls, I made a complete mess of the character since I had no idea how the stats worked at that point. It's probably going to happen this time too just to try out the different styles.


Anyway, I'm working on the Capra Demon now. He just killed me about 8 times in a row. Time to call it quits for the night.

Okay, it's totally awesome now. I'm glad armor actually does something this time around.

Oh yeah, and I just fought a super badass ultra wolf that uses a monstromagnous sword as a weapon! I need a t-shirt with that wolf on it.
