The "contest rules" page said:

The Contest... will run through the final match-up of the Tournament scheduled for December 19, 2011. Participants may create their brackets... ending at 6:59:59 PM ET on November 2, 2011

but then there is this:

After the 62nd battle (the second semifinal), all points will be banked, and there will be a 24-hour gap before the final battle

If we start on the 3rd (Eastern Time), then we can only finish the contest as scheduled if we don't have this 24-hour gap before the final battle!

This is such a huge inconsistency that needs to be addressed immediately.



(I wonder what the poll will be during this 24-hour gap. It's probably not "Who do you think will win this contest?" >_>)

Bacon said his math says the 19th, but that's impossible! This either means the contest starts on November 2, 2011 ET proper (while apparently we can still edit the bracket until 7:00 PM that day) or that there will be no 24-hour gap before the final battle.

or maybe I'm going crazy. Someone explains, please!
