It was over a 100 person class and M&Ms got like in the 60s. It wasn't like multi choice either you were literally told to put any candy you wanted and they did that well.

I don't really understand the popularity of M&Ms. I mean, they're good, but best candy period? Really?

The one thing I will say about plain M&Ms is that they are the best candy to put in stuff, like baked goods and ice cream. That's where they really shine. But by themselves they're kinda "whatever."

On a related note, my old environmental science teacher once went on a trip to Antarctica (for free!) sponsored by Mr. Mars. - the guy who started Mars candy and thus M&Ms, etc. He was once eating the free M&Ms, and made an off-hand comment to himself. Something like:
"Dammit my M&Ms melted in my hand"

Mr. Mars proceeded, so the story goes, to yell at him, and tell him how M&Ms were designed not to melt, and that thus it was the stupid coloring that was melting and not the M&Ms

She told us just to put the broad name any candy is known under rather than all the varieties so it would include those as well but even so getting over half the class when you could put any candy you wanted was ridiculous.
