Rocket Boots and Feral Pounce make getting around the overworld extraordinarily fluid. Rocket Boots let you glide on the ground very quickly. Feral Pounce gives you a leap that's... around running speed? It makes very little noise and can be used as a jump, too, though. Looks like Sly 2 has parallels for these powers too, though it seems like you get Feral Pounce a lot later...
Really, it's just fun to move around in the game. I can say the same thing about inFamous 2 as well, actually much more so.
why are there so many people who haven't realized how incredible of a developer Sucker Punch is

Sly 2 and 3 failed to interest me long enough to continue playing for long. I think because I don't like playing as anyone other than Sly. And even then, I hate how the only way to stealth kill is to slam an enemy down on the ground. Which is very not stealth-like.

ShadowHalo17 posted... Sly 1 was a fantastic game.

Yeah I really loved 1 a ton. Wasn't a big fan of 2 or 3, but 3 was okay. 2 was kind of a chore to finish.

One of the best things about Sly 2 and 3 is how many different things you do. Just about every mission ends up feeling like a genuinely unique task. Obviously, Bentley and Murray help out quite a bit there.
You'll get an upgrade that gives a different and much quieter animation for stealth kills eventually (fairly early in Sly 3, pretty late in Sly 2 iirc).
Actually, I guess the first "stealth kill" probably shouldn't even be called a stealth kill given what you think of a stealth kill as. It's meant to not be particularly stealthy during and after he does it, just that he can only do while the enemy isn't aware of him.
If it feels stealthy, it's just because the guards are kind of braindead in the games.

Most enemies in Sly 1 die in a single cane whack. Only the ones with ranged weapons are at all threatening. Regular enemies aren't terribly threatening in Sly 2 and 3, but they're definitely more threatening and there really isn't a completely reliable, uncomplicated to kill them. You can't fight Flashlight guards well at all in either of these games.
I'm positive that there are more head on encounters with basic enemies in Sly 1 than the other two just by it's design, too.
