I see major Nintendo SFF helping the Trainers.

A Noble Niner may lose, but does that only apply in direct 1 vs. 1 matches, not rivalries as in this contest's format?

I'm going with the Trainers.

Chrono already lost to Missingno

And trainers are getting at least 55% on Samus.

No Noble Niner has lost to a non-joke character, 1 v. 1,, but that absolutely does not mean that the Noble Nine holds any more. The matches that would take them down just haven't been set up yet.

It definitely holds for:
Link
Cloud
Sephiroth
Mario
and Solid Snake

Mega Man seems to be holding on, but Samus and Sonic have gotten much, much weaker, and Chrono would lose to many characters now, if those matches were to take place.

I would no longer trust Chrono against:
Squall, Vincent, Auron, Ganon, Bowser, Yoshi, Tifa, Aeris, Luigi, PTR, Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Ryu, Leon, or Dante.

Trainers are beating Samus/Ridley and will give a tough competition to Mario/Bowser

Samus would crush Mega Man, Sonic and Crono. Heck, she was going 50/50 with Cloud for three hours in 2010.

If you restrict the N9's pefect record to "24 hour, 1v1" it has never been broken. In 4-ways, Crono lost to Vincent, Sonic lost to Auron, Mega Man lost to WCC, Sephiroth lost to Kirby, and Link, Solid Snake, Cloud and Sonic were all beaten by L-Block. Missingno beat Crono in a 12 hour 1v1.

Pkmn Trainer Red

Different format, different contest strength. Samus is most probably going to lose tomorrow, but that doesn't mean that she has become weaker in a 1vs1 setting. As a matter of fact, i was thoroughly impressed by her performance from last year (Holding Cloud under 54% is no easy task, mind you). Samus would beat MM, Sonic or Crono with ease, i think.

As for Crono, it is only a matter of time before he inevitably fall to any of the near elites like (Squall, Vincent, Bowser, Luigi, Ryu, etc) but he isn't coming close to losing to Mewtwo, Pokemon trainer Red or even Leon just yet.
