the timeline.

For me, I don't debate the Zelda series timeline at all since I'm not that observant in the games to memorize each line a character says and whatnot but still, I see those debates and they really bring the fans together in a unique, fun way. If the timeline's revealed all those debates will end right then and there. Because, really, what's left to debate? We'd all know when each game takes place. All the fans coming together to share insights, opinions, findings, etc. wouldn't happen anymore. Sure, they'd still talk about the games, but it'd be on a much smaller scale. Some people poured hundreds of hours into their research and for all that to be for nothing? I don't know, I just don't like the sound of that.

Besides, with it being kept secret Nintendo can change small, or sometimes large, details about it to fit a new Zelda game they're making without seeming contradictory. Its in their best interest to keep it secret and have total freedom to do what they want with the series irregardless of if it makes sense in a "Grand timeline". With it revealed, they lose that freedom since they'd not be able to edit it as easily as they can now. I hope for those 2 reasons we never see the timeline. All it do is let people who were right boast for a bit, but nothing else.
