I was about to throw away my MW2 and my mom is like STOP that goes in the recycle bin.

Portal 2 was excellent. My friend and I played through it together from the beginning and it's a great spectator sport as long as the player is open to your ideas.

Yeah, of the linear, single-player, non-indie games I've played this year, I think I'd pick Uncharted 3 over Portal 2. (For all that neither one would be my personal favourite from 2010, but that has more to do with being obsessed by mutliplayer/indie stuff lately).

After sinking everything in and rethinking my GOTY..i'm gonna have to go with Dark Souls as the clear winner ahead of Xenoblade for me. Dark Souls was an experience like not other.

So true. Dark Souls IS my pick for GOTY. Second place going to Skyrim and third Deus Ex.
I played Portal 2 but cmon, while it was fun, playing that game a second time is pretty much useless and not fun anymore. Not worthy of a goty in my opinion.

It wouldn't be my choice, but it's a worthy pick nevertheless.

For me, I could never comprehend a game that you can beat in a day or two as the Game of the Year. If I was really hyped for a game for that long and then beat it that fast, I'd feel really disappointed.

As someone with limited time for gaming, I love great games that are not a major time sink. When it takes me a month to play through a 60-hour game, I'd rather have quality over quantity.
