I know this isn't the games board, but that's because this board is much faster.

The game is on sale for $30 on Boxing Day, is it worth it? I'm out of the house now (On my phone) so I can't really check up on videos and stuff. I've heard it's like a shooter with RPG elements. I like Mass Effect. Will I like this then?

It's more like Bioshock than Mass Effect, but if you liked either you will definitely like this.

I would actually recommend you to play the original Deus Ex first. The gameplay has aged very well, and the voice acting is so-bad-it's-great. It still does things better that no other game today (except DX:HR) does.

But regardless, you should definitely play DX:HR, really amazing game too. For $30 or $10 or even $60, it's worth it.

if you like RPGs and Shooters, (aka if you like mass effect) I'm sure you will like it. the shooting isn't nearly as crisp, but it makes up for it in excellent stealth and other things. go for it

I loved DX:HR, it was a game I finished which says a lot, I very rarely finish games. But it takes you along on a fun ride and there's just the right line of sidequests, main quests and making different saves just to try some things you aren't really supposed to do but can. The only thing I dislike about the game is that I find it stealth-focused, as the game rewards you a lot more for being stealthy and things generally end up easier. The original is indeed also a must-play.
