Without even reading the article, I'm pretty sure it's because WW and TP were on the Gamecube, and SS is a Wii game.

In his SS video he goes "lol who even played TP on the Wii?" and most of the rest is him complaining about the Wii and motion controls.

He just doesn't like the Wii!

I don't take Yahtzee's reviews seriously. Most of his criticisms in his reviews are nitpicks and exaggerations, but they're all for effect.

WW and TP are pretty close for me. As in definitely lower tier Zelda.

Honestly, he has two major points of complaint.

"It has motion controls"
"It's not an open world"

Well, obviously somebody who hates motion controls and only likes Zeldas with wider worlds isn't going to like a motion controlled, smaller world game. Other than that, eh, nitpicks. He's entitled to his opinion, but here his main argument is simply "this isn't the type of game I wanted to play". Also Fi, but I'll be a bit lenient on that one, she did get a bit annoying.

But Skyward Sword is an awesome game. Not a perfect game, I could nitpick it to high heaven if I wanted, but those faults never really impacted my (mostly wonderful) experience.

But yeah, you're allowed to not like it. It's just that Yahtzee's complaints are a bit pointless.

I think all three have some issues, and I can understand people disliking any of them. SS in particular wasn't a huge jump in quality over the last two, in any case. If you felt that Zelda has been worse since after the N64 it probably wouldn't change your opinion.

Yahtzee's opinions matter as much to me as, say, Ulti's when it comes to video games.

His blatant biases against genres, control schemes, and, let's face it, entire companies makes it impossible for me to take him seriously on a professional level.

Yahtzee obviously exaggerates issues for the sake of entertainment, but rarely are his complaints not valid. Usually they're just stuff that either A) doesn't bother people who like the game or B) secretly bothers people but are so defensive of their game that they feel the need to jump down his throat.

This seems more true of Nintendo fans, who always beg him to review a game in the series, then b**** when he gives it a negative review. Considering the fact that some of my favorite games have been absolutely destroyed by Yahtzee, I just take it for what it's worth: entertainment value.

SS is probably the best since that era, but it still reeks of New Zelda.

I disagree

SS isn't like the N64 Zeldas, but the level of quality is comparable, while TP was just mediocre. If you wanted OoT then it won't change your mind, but if you just wanted a good game, then it can.
