I was going to pay attention to how FD jungled but then he killed top lane all day long.

I was at a massive advantage going into the lane.

I had cloth armor + potions, which is perfect for vs panth, and I was almost level 2.5 going into the lane because of the jungles I started with before I realize I was needed top. And so he could not possibly trade damage with me and come out ahead. So he could either hang out as his tower while I took last hits or he could engage me anyways.

because you can change that in the settings in game. How red has it is

A) much much better. It's what I use as well.

B) it is also the only method they used to have. They changed it awhile ago and made the changed version default. It sucks =P

GAME #1:
I started out with Heimerdigger. Sadly, the game seemed to crash so I only reconnected after everyone was at L5 already. It's alright though. I managed to solo bottom for a bit, build up to level 6, and then a team of us took out the first tower. I think it really, really helps that our side had a guy with 19 of the 36 kills and likely none of the deaths. His abilities are fun and he seems great for lanes and retreats. Mana Regen seems a must for him so the blue biscuits are a priority purchase next time. I went 1/0/6 after coming back six levels behind, made it to Level 13, yet only killed thirty spawn. Last killing is a lot tougher than RoI it seems. Minions attack a lot more quickly or my guy is just really slow to attack. Probably both.

GAME #2: Heimerdigger
Another win. 5/3/6, they had a better team than the last opponent, but I still did fairly well. Doubled up my spawn kills so I've gotten better.

GAME #3: Taric
A lot tougher to use than Heimerdigger, but I still did alright considering my lane had one of my weaker allies against easily the best player of both sides, a Kog'Maw. 4/3/4 with lots of healing. I didn't quite get his abilities or how to beef him up, but I mostly went with heavy defense and mana/hp regen. Not the most fun to play. Heimerdigger > Taric.

I also noticed how insane the numbers are compared to RoI. Where 20 armor in that game is considered great, my tank had well over 100 midgame. It's nutty!

Quick Advice to any and all new players:

1.We have a lot of good players in this topic---FD/Chris/Red---just to name a few. Some of them, FD especially, are very helpful.

2.Winning your lane doesn't mean killing your opponent over and over(though it helps!). Out CSing or staying close in CS to an early game champion like Caitlyn is a huge advantage if you have a late game champion like Tristana or Kog.

3.On the other hand, there are certain characters who dominate certain lanes to such a great degree that they absolutely curtail the enemy in lane. The first one to come to mind is my personal favorite champion: Garen. Characters like these dominate the early game so thoroughly in quite a lot of matchups that they reach a point of mid game invulnerability.

I suggest tinkering with each type of champion. Some good early game laners are Garen/Singed/Caitlyn. They dominate their lanes and if not forced to retreat by a jungler or mid gank, they will snowball effortlessly and dominate games.

Some good late game champions are Irelia/Vayne/Nasus. These champions are not bad in lane persay, but they have quite a few matchups that can give them trouble. But if played correctly, they become late game monsters that are nearly untouchable. Nasus being the King of such clubs.

GAME #4: Sivir, 3/3/8 W in 22:03
- My team was boss. I was easily the weakest link with three guys having ten more kills than deaths. Plus, not good at all at the class. Boomerang was fun, but I know I should've been running around the map more with her. I'm not good at that.

GAME #5: Viktor, 1/9/5 L in 35:03
- Oh god I suck with Viktor. Never again. Excellent ganks and strategies by the other team.

GAME #6: Amumu, 1/1/4 Ws in 20:28
- Amumu's fairly fun, though I should've gotten some Mana Regen isntead going full on tanky. Need to remember to buy more mediocre items and not just go high end real fast. I like his moves and tricks, but I played pretty strict bottom lane. Times I left to gank... already dead by the time I got there even with +3 movement bonus.

GAME #7: Heimerdigger, 8/6/2 Ls in 39:00
- Note to self: focus on Ability Power. The other Heimer was a beast... who I never encountered until the last ten minutes of the match (and killed him first, before he inevitably ended up killing me 3 times). I'm also the only one with a good K:D on my team and tied for least deaths. I think, overall, I did quite well. Especially for not really getting good items. Huge Mana Regen, not as much oomph.

Edit: Give him a BV and he'll be a phenomenal initiator. Leap strike into his dodge, mitigate all damage plus stun the team. Boss.

First loss in a row, we had somebody who couldn't decide what to pick, so they ended up with Nidalee and fed. Our bot lane was also bad.

Second loss we had somebody choose to play Ahri after I already picked Xerath for mid. They later admitted it was their first time playing Ahri. Also, when we told them to get a BV, they asked 'what is that, armor?'

Third loss, we had a Graves + Taric bot lane feeding a Vayne + Soraka. Our WW was jungling without Smite. My duo-queue partner and I were doing fine, but I was Xerath and he was Kennen so the enemy team just built a lot of MR fast.

I had the godlike start of the ever. Was completely shutting down enemy jungle and had 6 kills VERY early on. Enemy lee sin was underlevelled and underfarmed and a complete nonfactor. We were up 3 dragons, we were up 1 baron. And then we could not win team fights at all. Very frustrating game, lol.

OMG, they nerfed the eff out of Jax. Eliminated his health boost passive and replaced it with what used to be part of his ult, no more MR from Ult, bonus damage from Ult now has time limit to use... he's gonna be so squishy now... and only viable against AD champs, mages will destroy him...

#10 - Loss with Gangplank. 8/9/7 out of 31/47/30. Just got curbstomped by a few opposing players.
#11 - Loss with Singed. 5/7/3 out of 19/28/8. Did okay with a 1v2 lane, but once it dropped to a 4v3 and I had no idea what I was doing with items... actually, it was mostly Dedah going like 20-2 on us.
#12 - Win with Pantheon. 3/11/5 out of 44/48/20. Definitely did horrible, but he was a lot of fun. Our Poppy creamed them, but they had an amazing Gangplank in my early lane.
#13 - Win with Heimer. 17/11/14 out of 50/44/32. Started out 5-0 in bottom with our worst player, went 0-for-9 or so in the midgame, our best guy (9:1 K:D at Level 13) left, and then we managed to come back and curbstomp. 12-2/3 in the endgame against four decent players and one suicidal YogMaw. Excellent game.

So far: Heimerdigger > Gangplank > Pantheon > Taric > Amumu > Sivir > Singed > Viktor

You have four spells that scale off of AP, and they scale pretty well. If you want to build AD, play another champion.
