I was really pulling for D.K. since he was putting himself in a good position to nab the first or second overall spot, but he blew it

I'm a sucker for these kinds of things, really enjoyed it. Was routing for Bowser actually, after his first 2 victories I hoped he'd keep up the pace. Sadly he did not. And DK was 'just there' the entire time, I actually forgot about him until I saw the write-ups.

Yoshi killed it. Just goes to show that he is the best racer. Toad completely blew Rainbow Road though, a first place finish would have gotten him the victory.

It begins!

The layout for MK7 is a bit different than it is for MK64, but nonetheless it works about as well, so everything is good to go.

Toad Circuit results:



Koopa never took 1st, always relaying between 4th and 2nd. It was really a battle between D.K. and Mario most of the race, but Mario eventually fell out of it. Yoshi fought for 1st as well against D.K. but ultimately D.K. pulled it out and somehow Koops took the silver. Bottom 3 didn't have much impact.

Daisy Hills results:



Okay, I can't honestly even begin to explain the chaos that existed within this race. The final stretch of the last lap had every racer switching positions - from 6th to 4th, 3rd to 5th, 7th to 4th, etc. I was wide-eyed and just thinking "okay, I can't fathom this." Way more chaotic than anything from MK64.

Nonetheless Luigi pulled it out. Yoshi and Koopa were in 2nd and 3rd (Koopa 2nd) but then he hit a banana at the way end and Toad snuck into 3rd.

It was Peach and Mario leading the pack, with Mario leading through the first 2 laps. Peach caught up and took it in the end, though it was close between the top 3. The pace slowed down since the last race.

Top 3 were duking it out all race. Luigi was cemented in the middle. Bowser edged out the bottom 2, while both Yoshi/Koopa finished milliseconds apart.

Wuhu Loop results:



Fairly even-paced race, with the top 2 deserving it. Bowser got hit by a blue shell right before the finish line to give Toad the win. Koopa was in way last, sadly. Not even close. Yoshi had 4th, but tripped up toward the end as well.

Mario Circuit results:



Close one between Yoshi, Bowser, and Koopa, the only 3 racers to not finish in 1st (we now have 6 in a row again!). Toad should have probably finished last, but otherwise it was a fairly spaced out race.

Music Park results:



Yup. Sad part is now Koopa has a "---" and we can't go for 8 in a row. And he was leading for over 2 laps in this race also, but Bowser soared past him on the final lap, and barely nudged him out at the finish line. Bowser is picking it up.

Rock Rock Mountain results:



I just don't know. After the 1st lap or so it seemed like the top contenders for the race were clear, but then everything switched on the final lap. DK was in last all race, but then on the final part of the final lap everything got crazy. Bowser was in 1st the entire time, and even though the gap between him and 2nd narrowed to a near photo-finish, he still pulled it again (first two time winner!). Mario looked solid, yet lost. DK looked awful, yet placed 3rd. I just don't get it.

Not too much to say here. Luigi and Mario held the top 2 for a while, but then Mario fell out and Toad took over. Koopa went way down.

Koopa can't catch a break. Battling it out with Peach all race for the top spot. Nonetheless Peach is the frontrunner with Bowser barely on her tail.

Koopa was yet again stopped at the end. Between himself, Bowser, and Luigi, it was a face off for first. Luigi took the final lap and never lost the lead, but Bowser nudged Koopa to 3rd at the very end.
