As much as I appreciate Angie for her sense of humor I can't say that she's as essential to the plot as any Weasley except for Charlie. Hell even Ron's great aunt Muriel contributes one snippet of dialogue that proves to be important later on. Ang is just an awesome background character... =/

DeepsPraw posted... Who the hell is Angelina Johnson?
I'm no super fan, but I've read the books and seen the movies and have no idea who that is.
She played on the Gryffindor Quidditch team for five years, dated Fred, refused to go out with Lee Jordan, and went on to marry George years after Fred died. That's the gist of it. She's pretty cool.

(1)Severus Snape Fluffy is a one-appearance pet. He doesn't even return for Deathly Hallows. In fact, he's all but forgotten for the rest of the series. We don't even see any more three headed dogs. Kind of disappointing, really. We don't even learn what happens to him. Did Hagrid get rid of him? I read on the wiki that Hagrid released him in the forbidden forest. And... did pretty much nothing. Yeah.
(5)Molly Weasley Molly is one badass mother. I know a lot of people dislike that she's the one who kills Bellatrix. But her brothers were pretty awesome wizards. She seems to be one of the more powerful pure-blood wizards on the side of good during Harry's time. Of course there are a few wizards who's status we don't know. Seems like the most talented wizards are Half-Bloods though. Personally I like that Molly kills Bellatrix. Because Bellatrix killed Sirius -- the other big parental figure in Harry's life. As for Angelina... she's an alright character. But she doesn't really do much until she becomes captain of the Quidditch team, and that's the year of Umbridge. She does seem to take Harry as Tri-wizard champion pretty well, considering she was of age and wasn't named. But we really don't know much about her. So my vote goes to her mother-in-law.
...Ok, how the hell did Fluffy beat Rita Skeeter? That's some crazy hate-voting, because Fluffy is a total non-character. Oh well, steamroll time.
(5)Molly Weasley (4)Angelina Johnson
Hmm...who to vote for...I don't know.
Molly probably has more screen time.
Although, honestly, Angelina's screen time is barely noteworthy outside of book 5. I mean, granted, even without book 5 she's the most memorable of the three chasers; Fred asks her out, she puts her name in the Goblet of Fire, and most Gryffindors seem to be hoping for Angelina, and I think Pansy Parkinson makes fun of Angelina's hair ("why would anyone want to look like worms were coming out of their head?" or something like that) but if we exclude book 5 she's still cleanly a C-lister. Her role as a psycho team captain is pretty great, though. Including stuff like cracking at Harry for getting detention and missing practice, and then later confessing that the stress of being captain is getting to her.
Molly...well she's a mother stereotype. She gets possessive and in her mind she's basically adopted Harry (even though she hasn't). She sends a howler in book 2. She shows up as Harry's family in book 4. She yells at people sometimes; usually Fred and George, sometimes Dung. She um...cooks, and umm...cleans, collectively with the group in book 5. She doesn't want Harry Ron and Hermione to go on a suicide mission from Dumbledore, nor does she want her daughter to duel Bellatrix Lestrange. She carries a big ass grandfather clock around with her when the second wizarding war starts, so she'll know when family members are in the most danger. Her Boggart that transforms into all the dead family members is kinda creepy.
Hmm...yeah, I think Molly's just got more material. (Which comes back to her having more screen time).

Switch to Angelina Johnson because I like her more even if Molly's more crucial.
Plot-important shouldn't be what you decide your vote on anyway. I mean...Slytherin's Basilisk is pretty plot-important. Way more plot important than Molly, I'd argue. I wouldn't vote for the Basilisk over either Angelina or Molly.
I do find this one hard, as I seem to like characters more when they have a bunch of screen time in one book to really flesh them out (rather than small amounts of screen time for 7 books). Angelina's more concentrated--I'd take OotP Angelina over any individual book for Molly. The problem is for me it goes something like...
1. OotP Angelina 2. OotP Molly 3. HBP Molly 4. CoS Molly 5. GoF Molly 6. DH Molly 7-14. All other appearances are pretty minor.
And Molly's best appearance for me isn't -that- far behind Angelina's best appearance. So...yeah, while I'm still kind-of on the fence (could probably be persuaded to vote for Angelina if good arguments were presented) I'm leaning Molly for now.
