Looking at it another way:

There were five Coach voters prior to the first tie.

Of those five, two voted for Cochran in the revote, one voted for Rick.

Therefore, Cochran wins.

I was really hoping one of the Cochran voters from the previous round would have flopped their vote to Rick. What better way for Cochran to lose, than a switched vote during the re-vote tie!

Or that Poke would have showed up last time. Or that greengravy (who votes like twice for the same person in every match) would have showed up this time.

And even if he did he probably would've laughed at it because Coach was laughing at it and Cochran was literally Coach's protogé. Or however you spell that.

Honestly. Completely honestly, that does sound better than most of the other alternatives mentioned in this topic so far. Lightning rounds suck donkey dong. There's no way around that fact. And holding a third round exactly like this seems superfluous.

However it still doesn't sound fair. greengravy forgot to vote this round just like Poke forgot to snipe last round. Proclaiming Rick the winner based on the assumption that he would've received more votes if all of his fans showed up feels unclean. And giving Cochran the sole win under any circumstance is just wrong. Morally.

The fairest-sounding idea so far was the dual title, but uh... we kind of need a sole Survivor, don't we?

You know... this is actually true. I've seen several ties settled by just combining the totals of each's votes, like in Ed's last Best Fictional Character Ever contest. Say two competitors got 30 votes each on the first day, and then on the tiebreaker one got 33 votes and the other got 30 again. First wins by a margin of 63-60.

This really isn't that different. It's just total number of unique fans instead of total number of votes (since they tied again that'd be useless anyway).

I say dual champions with Rick getting the sole survivor benefits, such as competing in the next Survivor Winners Tourney or whatever.

Sounds fair.
