preferred position is fully stretched out with hands between the upper leg and the mattress

I shift all over the place. Both sides and back for the most part, it's completely random. Rarely do I sleep on my stomach.

I start out lying on the side, with one hand under my pillow and the other hugging another pillow I end up wrapping my leg around. After that though, in the middle of the night I toss and turn and any sleeping position becomes fine.

On my back, left arm up behind my head (with my forearm resting on my forehead).

I never deviate, toss, or turn unless I have a really bad headache.

It used to be my right arm above my head but when I had surgery on that shoulder, I had to switch arms.

On my left side, with my arms crossed over my chest. Right arm on top, hands in loose fists in front of my shoulders. Legs together and slightly brought up, with the blankets folded between them. Like the blankets are in sort of a sideways W shape with one leg in each dip.
