Looks like poor Nintendo didn't just lose the ability to make good games (except for maybe 2 or 3 decent titles in the 2008-2011 time frame); they lost their business model along the way, too.

I think they stole away the grandmas/idiots/non-gamers demographic, but not the core gamers.

Super Mario Galaxy, DKCR, SS, etc. disagree.

The problem is they don't make enough good games.

Compounding this is the fact they have no third party support. They have no third party support because the console itself is garbage(underpowered, laughable online capability).

They can make good games; their problems are slightly more complex than that.

this. nintendo has been terrible ever since the DS taught them that control gimmicks create more success than being dedicated to creating quality games. hopefully they sell off monolith and retro before they go under because those two studios are still good at least, I'd rather not see them get dragged under with the nintentanic
