What is League of Legends? League of Legends is a team game very similar to the WarCraft 3 custom map DotA. There are two bases, one on either side of the map and several "lanes" between the bases along which AI controlled units spawn. An overhead view of the 5v5 map looks about like this:
There is a base in the bottom left, and a base in the top right. 3 lanes connect the two bases and every 30 seconds AI controlled "minions" spawn in each lane. Everyone who is in the game controls 1 "champion" unit and your job as a team is to push your lanes and destroy the opposing base. The lanes are protected by turrets and so you need your own minions along side you to be able to kill the turrets without getting targeted by them. 2 bases, 3 lanes, 5 players per team. There is also The Crystal Scar, the map currently used for the Dominion game mode. The Dominion overhead view looks like this:
What are Champions? Champions are the powerful units that you get to control. You pick 1 before the map loads and that is the champion you will use for that match. Champions start each match at level 1 their max level is 18. The important thing to consider is the stats of the champion you select will be affected by the level of your account.
What do 'account-levels' have to do with anything? When you create an account you have a level 1 account. That is called your 'Summoner Level'. You are the summoner, and the champion you select for the match is the 'summoned'. You increase your summoner level by playing matches. Every match you play will earn you XP and IP. Earning enough XP will increase your summoner level with the max level being 30. Wins are worth more XP/IP than losses, so try to win. Your summoner level also determines: (1) How many runes you can slot and (2) How many mastery points you can allot
If you are low leveled still and playing by yourself then the game will try and pair you against similarly leveled opponents, but if you are playing with higher leveled friends then it will seek higher leveled opponents. Just something to consider when you start learning how to play.
What is IP again? IP is the other kind of points you earn when you play matches. You earn both XP and IP and IP are the points that you use to purchase runes and champions. Yes, thats right, you have to "buy" the champions, but you get the points for free so its not a bad deal. (You can also spend real money on champion packs if you would rather not take the time to earn them) The point is that you get the IP for free so you should figure out which champions you are good with and spend it on those. When you buy a champion you will have it unlocked on your account forever. And if you don't buy ANY champions, you will still have access to 10 of them. Every week there are 10 "free" champions. But they are only free for the week and 10 different champions will be free the next week. And so if you are level 1 you still have 10 champions available to you and so try them out, figure out which one you might like to spend points on and then buy it.
And so IP is good for Champions and Runes. You can also spend *real money* to unlock champions but you can NOT unlock runes with real money, only IP and so runes have to be earned.
To sum up: You have an account that goes up to level 30 (this is your summoner level) You earn XP (to level up the account) and IP (to buy champions/runes) every time you play a match You have rune pages (with up to 30 slots) You have a mastery page to spec (with up to 30 points) (and you can respec as much as you want)
This is probably a bit over-kill and so if something doesnt quite make sense just ask and someone will clarify. And if you are going to start playing please post: (1) Your GameFAQs name (2) Your Summoner name (this is different than your log-in name) (3) Your preferred champions. Its just nice to know which champions people prefer to play or use the most.
And please BOLD THE INFORMATION so we will see it and update the list accordingly.

C'mon, I'm not even holding the controls! Only two jokers in the deck and I got dealt you. Time to Feed! Guess what's about to hit the fan. I'm OP? Your MOM is OP!
And we both went 1-0 in separate soloQ games that we ended up in because of FailClient. We were both 3rd pick in our respective games. Going to c/p my screenshot because I am proud of my eve game =P
But on the whole it was a frustrating night lol. Mana and Dante were both online for the first game and maybe some others. Game 3 wasn't much better. You don't have to be in ELO hell to get trolled. But we'll just have to move on and win more games tomorrow.
1. Red's Anivia is the one champ I've seen played that makes me go "I could never beat that mid". dude is justa beast with the bird. Even when FD trolls him with Shyvana.
2. Karma needs one simple change: either make Q always heal and damage on mantra or make E always damage and do something else on mantra. She can't mid because her range sucks and her best spell needs mantra to do damage and she can't support because her heal not only blows but needs mantra to work. One or the other. Also W should do damage and slow down when mantra.
3. Ashe. That is All.

Try out solo-top AD Nid against you, yes. Then play it in real games, yes.
I'd like to fill out rune pages I care about then buy another rune page before I really start trying to jungle. And I might buy an IP boost sunday, just a head's up.

I dislike how it's practically impossible to beat a good nidalee no matter who you are. You just have to survive her and win when it comes to teamfights X_X

So, Sivir kept pushing and going in stupidly while I was supporting, Renekton insisted on going mid against Malz and fed, Kennen fed GP top, everyone fed Nocturne.....and I get stuck with the Renekton again in the next queue -_-
malzahar is one of the best solo mids in the game. He has a few hard counters, but most people don't take the effort to use them.
You can try to counter him, but chances are hes only going to lose minimal farm at best and if you are successfully zoning him, your going to get jungle ganked with a malz ult combo

"First thing that crosses my mind: I didn't get any GameFAQs Karma yesterday." Math Murderer after getting his appendix removed.
Karthus completely loses control of mid, allowing enemy Malzahar to free roam all the lanes (how does this even happen)
Lose game
That would be your fault. If you were truly dominating bot, then you should've adapted to the Malz, and resist ganks from him.
Case in point: the game I just played:
Ahri d/c'd around level 8. To be fair, my lane was hella easy - I turned it into a game of 'don't let Sion's shield explode'. But once Malzahar began roaming, I prepared for it. Peaf was warding well, and I kept myself near tower. When Malz showed up, I made him try to get me under tower, then stunned him and ate his face.
Also, Soraka heals did help a lot.
Hell, the only two times I died that game were due to Ahri attracting Jarvan in from a brush, then he cata'd me, knocked me up (lol), Sion stunned, bear threw, and Malz ulted.
And the other time was similar, except due to bad pathing and me not paying attention.

Yeah except he didn't gank. He literally joined bot and 3 v 2'd our tower for 3 minutes while Karthus dicked around doing nothing in mid. Then he went top and did the same thing.

Then that would be a case of cutting losses, and retreating to avoid giving him kills and such.

Three minutes. We held the tower without dying for that long and Karthus never came to help. You don't abandon a tower when anyone coming to assist you would have saved it.
Like I'm glad you live in a fairytale world where you it's your fault if your teammates are bad, but your example sucks. The Malz you played with doesn't look like he did so hot. When Malz came bot he was 3-0 and had the highest farm on the map.We had just got done killing someone in bot and were at low health, and we still held out for that long. Karthus never even ulted once in the entire laning phase. It was ridiculous.
I'm not taking it personally, it's just terrible logic. The idea that of going "yeah, you may have faced a harder lane than I did, a better/more fed malz than I did that camped your lane, and gotten no assistance, but you still should have won. Here's a picture of me carrying." is just...dumb.

Well I was originally just going to post the picture but then your example was close to mine so I had to comment.

Your fault is in *****ing and getting mad, Kamikaze. If you couldn't win it, that's fine. Now listen to some music to get out of that stormy mood, punch a pillow, and jump back in. I don't even care if you actually did play a perfect game and lost, raging is useless. It just puts you in tilt and makes you lose more.
I think the concept behind Ziggs was that 'this guy is really good, but you need to be skilled with him to make use with it' except you really don't even need to be. His abilities aren't that hard to land and even a bad Ziggs is going to change teamfights with his ult.

Not necessarily true. FD and Red qued up ranked once when I was above them and I qued up as well, ending up against them (mid 1700 ranked game). The game was pretty even with them slightly ahead (Red was doing well and I was like 5-1-1 or something too). But when it came to team fights our Rammus was probably the worst Rammus of all time, not understanding the first basic rule of Flash Powerball Taunt Rammus (and that's to actually DO IT). Also our TF was completely derp too.
Long story short I was extremely pissed off since I won my lane handily and had a way better team for teamfights if our Rammus knew how to play the game at all.
So I'm like, **** and qued up right away, and just say I'm going to DESTROY WITH ANGER whoever I'm against and I go like 13-1-10 as Fizz.
Some people play better under different conditions. If I'm on a 3 game losing streak I keep playing because I want that ELO back. I know I didn't deserve to lose it so Ima go get it back and I've always broke even except for one time. If I'm down and wanting wins, I usually play better and focus on making plays perfectly because I don't want to lose any more. It depends on how you work.

Oh and Ziggs is very strong. The problem about nerfing him is that if they don't buff his Satchel while nerfing Q and Ulti slightly, he's QUICKLY going to go from strong to useless since he already gets completely raped by assassins because Satchel sucks lol.

From: YetAnothrShadow | #039 Hey what's your guys' opinion of Ziggs?
A friend of mine if calling him balanced and the LoL forums is as uninformative as ever.
Too strong, in my opinion.
He controls way too much space for a burst caster. He's a lot like release Orianna in that he has a good combination of good burst, good control, and relatively low costs. I'd hate to see him fall victim to chisel nerfs and become as bad as Orianna is now, which is the only reason I'm not calling him OP. Something needs to change. Mana costs seem like the least destructive to his overall playstyle, just a blow to the aspect of Ziggs that's most easily abused.
Also, his ult is too good in team fights. You basically have to scatter preemptively unless you want a massive AoE nuke dropped on you in less than a second. It makes sense that it would wreck faces from one lane to the other. Not so much when he's standing right in front of you and chunking you instantly.

They're never going to buff his satchel. And I'm not just saying that. Riot doesn't compensate when they nerf new champions. Look at Orianna. And making the satchel as reliable as, say, flash, on a zoning champion is ridiculous.

It's not the cooldown necessarily that needs a buff, it's how you use it. There's far too much delay on throwing it down and activating it for it to be a decent escape, at least in the thick of the battle and against competent opponents. In most cases it's completely useless and I'd like that changed if they nerf his Q/Ulti (since those seem to be the common complaints)

I don't think the satchel was made to be used as a get out of jail free card. More for positioning and getting around the map, or making escapes during chases, rather than getting out of ganks with ease.
Because really, jungle pressure is the only way Ziggs can lose currently.

Derp, that's not true at all. He has counters that completely destroy him no matter how good you are(Leblanc/Talon/Fizz) There's literally nothing he can do against them (trust me, I completely destroyed one and have been destroyed a couple days ago) It's not about knowing the match up, it's just literally not having the ability to stop them from screwing you because Satchel is useless lol. Orianna at least has displacement on her ult and the speedboost. If someone jumps on you and you are Ziggs there's not one thing you can do to stop them.
I mean sure, champs have counters and such but making a hard counter even harder (through incoming nerfs is kinda annoying =P)

My biggest problem with Ziggs is his ult indicator isn't flashy enough. It's like gangplank but without the ridiculous sound effect at the beginning. Really needs a ridiculous sound effect to accompany it or a longer delay or both-- most of the time by the time I realize it's coming it's already too late to dodge.
