Are you kidding me? Amazon's edit was nothing like Samoa's. Everyone who made the merge got a pretty well visible edit. Butch was the least visible merge-maker, and even he was well presented. And if you're referring to the fact that Rob got the downfall edit, it was nowhere near the Russell edit. IMO Amazon is one of the best-edited seasons.

I think he's referring to confessional averages. Rob is pretty high and ahead of the pack. Nonetheless I like it a ton. I think this final 10 may be close to what my top 10 of the seasons would look like.

There have been plenty of other seasons where one person's confessional count was way above the rest of the pack (especially in more recent seasons), but Amazon's best quality was that it didn't make the rest of the cast suffer in terms of quality and quanitity of the edits. Amazon has probably one of the most evenly-visible Final 10s in the history of the show, with Rob being a bit higher than the rest and Butch being a bit lower. The only other problem with Amazon's edit was that we weren't made to like the winner. At all.

I can see the similarities between Russell and Rob's edits, but Russell had the jackass edit going for him all along while Rob's edit felt like it could've been a winner's edit, especially following Thailand.

The biggest difference between Russell and Rob's edits (asid from the fact that Russell was completely shoved down our throats and Rob not so much) was that Russell was from the start shown as the leader of his alliance, and threatening others into doing what he wanted. Rob instead started out as the outcast who was looking to be an early boot who gradually eased his way into several alliances and secretly called the shots without the others even realizing it.

Episodes Not Shown the Most On Their Tribe (regarding those who lasted long enough to make the finale)

In Samoa, there were 2 episodes when Russell didn't give the most confessionals on his tribe.

In Amazon, there were 4 episodes when Rob C didn't give the most confessionals on his tribe. (The only other season with that same number is Rob in Redemption Island).



Not even HvV Russell is comparable to any of these statistic. (68 confessionals. 4.86 average. 6 episodes without the most confessionals on his tribe)


So yeah. Amazon IS like Samoa.

yeah I don't get all the Australia love...

I mean Michael was awesome. Jerri, Varner and Alicia were fun to watch. A bunch of pre-mergers were pretty animated, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the season overall. I did watch it late, so maybe my failure to get a boner for Colby after seeing him in HvV and Top Shot season 1 before Australia makes me inclined to underrate the season...

I watched Australia when it aired. It was good, I just liked Amazon more, plus Australia is probably more of a threat to beat my top 3.

Australia had Michael, Colby, Roger, and pre-view Elizabeth, along with a lot of other entertaining characters.

And Marilyn, one of the best pre-merge boots ever.

Yup. Gabon because of Ken then haven't stopped watching. Saw Borneo and Pearl Islands a few years ago, and impulsively saw Australia over the Christmas break.

The reason I like Australia so much is that it actually had a pretty good balance of everything. There were good characters, memorable moments, a cool setting, a little bit of (but not overbearing amount of) strategy, and the show still carried over some of the actual survival aspect.

Nope, I'm not a person that usually hates things and then keeps on watching it!

It's just that no one really stood out for me, it was a pretty balanced cast imo. Also, seasons 17-22 were grouped together and easier for me to save >_>;
