It's not healthy to keep the anger inside. Let it out! Let it all out!

Don't know about the rest, but PS3 controllers are apparently tough enough to withstand tossing.

I remember it clearly. I've let the controller drop in frustration many times but only once have I actually -thrown- it. I was playing Illusion of Gaia, I think this fishing part. I've never been this p***ed at a game before, and that's saying something. It was funny, too, because it was very deliberate, I remember thinking "I'm going to throw this controller, I'm gonna be very careful though because I don't want anything breaking". So I got close to the screen, mentally I went "F**** YOU" and then just kinda flinged it against it. I was worried immediately because it made a nice "clink" sound, but luckily nothing broke.

A game's unfairly pissing you off and negative emotions build up. Then you just feel you've had enough and you toss the controller. The world sits still for a moment and then all is forgotten, you pick the controller up and continue forward, determined to overcome the frustrating challenge the game's throwing at you.

If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right!

I've tossed my PS3 controller 10+ times, it's still working perfectly. Another proof Sony is superior to Nintendo.

PS3 controller do seem fairly durable as I still have my 2 original controllers, but PS2 controllers did break if you even blinked at them

This is about throwing, not tossing.

When I hear toss I think of putting the controller on the couch gently from 3 feet away.

Throwing is quite a bit more violent.

Lol Vlado.

When I get angry at video games I just go run as fast as I can outside.

That'S better.

Releasing anger is actually unhealthy because it becomes habitual. Habits are hard to break

What if you get frustrated elsewhere and don't have a controller to throw to make you feel better? Are you going to throw bricks?

Well since I get angry like once every 1-2 years I don't think it'll ever become a habit ._.

Now if you get angry every day then there's a problem, and it's not the how you release the anger but the why you're always so angry.

Nah. I have a friend that has broken two controllers and another that has broken at least one, all through tossing. They're not especially durable.

I don't know, I call it "tossing" because I toss it by flicking my wrist (like a frisbee), not actually grab it in hand, raise it up and throw it. It's more natural given how one holds a controller.

How often it happens is an interesting question. Probably like once every couple months or so to me.

Well, don't throw it against the wall with full force! Of course I am at least somewhat careful not to break it when I do so.

Ahh. That's exactly how it happened for two of them. Although one was broken more interestingly. He planned to spike the controller down hard into the mattress in order to NOT break it, and it ended up hitting his other controller which was sitting on the bed, and it basically shattered.

I used to do this, but that was years ago, during the SNES times. I haven't thrown a controller in the past 18 (or so) years
Nowadays I take the mature way out and yell obscenities at the screen. >_>
