How is this even a problem? The gameplay is super simplistic and easy. Just smash whatever the attack button is and spam magic attacks while dodging circle energy ball attacks from enemies.

That's what I thought. But I died against random enemies twice already. I'm in Hard mode and mashing square. Trying to play it like Dynasty Warriors, I guess. >_>

was spamming magic the way to go? and for some reason i had the lance equipped when i stopped playing. Hrm.

Magic sure helped a lot more than slashing against tougher enemies. I don't know which one is considered the strongest, but I just used the lance one. Worked for me! Then again I didn't play on on hard, game got too boring after the first playthrough, maybe one day I'll go back and get the rest of the endings.

The text adventure part was one of the best parts.

But the entire game is pretty great, as long as you play it for what it is (a parody of multiple gameplay genres with great music and characters) and not for what some people may be led to thinking that it is (a straight up "epic" action RPG).

played through Nier three times for all the endings master race reporting in

NG+ isn't that hard at all. Just equip the Pheonix weapon of your choice, put on the best words you have, equip Dark Lance and whatever that spell that summons shadow versions of you is, and go to town.

Make sure to upgrade your weapon if at all possible for even more asskicking.

I don't think the Ending B run makes you go through the same text adventure thing twice. It has new ones, but yeah.

Also Nier on Hard mode isn't as fun as Normal mode.

Normal mode is a total joke, especially once you've cleared the game at least once. By the time I reached ending B, I was having to jump around and dodge while I listened to the new dialogue because if I attacked the bosses would immediately die. >_>

Yep, gamelay is such a joke, that I there really is no reason to play through that garbage again. If you just care about story and how things play out, better just youtube it.

I'm not saying it's a bad game, the story is the reason I stayed to finish it, but if you are going to claim it has great or even good gameplay then, well, you would be wrong, because it doesn't.

Hard Mode all the way, beginning to end.

Only actually hard part was the first fight against the huge lizard at the beginning. It gets progressively easier, but never starts playing itself like Normal mode probably does.

I remember I switched to hard mode because the first boss on normal ng+ was stupidly easy. but now I can't even beat those tiny enemies >_>
