that review took every opportunity to say "not as good as Xenoblade, guys!"

I think I'll try this out tonight. the review makes it sound really modern from a design standpoint, right down to brevity, chapter structure and linearity. I wonder how that works out.

Eurogamer makes it sound kinda like Mass Effect or something. high on action, low on customization, really easy and unrewarding, focused and short. I'm really curious about this game. sounds like Japan's newest RPGs are innovating in interesting ways.

yeah, that sold me on it more than anything else. Xenoblade, great as it is, could probably be greater if you cut 15 hours out somewhere.

Man people need to stop comparing Last Story with Xenoblade - everybody's been doing it for years now

They're two completely different kinds of RPGs, comparing them just doesn't make sense.

Well, they're still both RPGs, so it's not wrong to compare them, but that probably comes from the fact they're both big Wii RPGs.

it sounds like Xenoblade is the wrong comparison. like, if you were to compare it to WRPGs, Xenoblade is Skyrim and Last Story is Mass Effect.

Last Story should probably be compared with FF13 before Xenoblade.

weird game. I feel like I'm dismissing it due to stupid complaints and the framerate is more than a little jarring, but it's innovative and unique. not always in ways that I like, but it's daring to be different mechanically.
