UltraDavid on the timer thing:

Timeouts are due to a bunch of poor decisions imo:
--Timer never stops running
-----Supers take a minimum of 5 seconds, team supers can take up to 12 seconds
-----Normal throws take 3-5 seconds from when the throw starts to when the opponent is up and hittable again
-----Even non-cinematic combos take a long time, up to 10 seconds to deal 500 damage
--Life and damage choices are really strange
-----Gief/Hugo has 2350 life. Wow
-----Damage scaling uses SF4's formula (100%, 100%, 80%, 70%, 60%, ..., 10% x n), which is crazy in a game where practical combos can be comprised of 20 individual moves
-----Life recovery potential is too high: 50% on chains, 33% on other normals, 20% on specials
--Mechanics that make mounting and maintaining offense harder
-----Throws have such terrible range that it's impractical for some characters to open opponents up on offense
-----Alpha counters are super good
-----Roll/stand/backdash can allow the opponent to get away from pressure in a way that deals no damage to anyone and sets up the distance game again
-----Most characters' damaging combos result in knockdowns, which allow opponents to get away
--Stages are really long, which makes runaway and keepaway more effective
--Some of the early strong characters are more obviously played patiently than offensively

Hopefully the last point changes as our understanding of the game evolves, and maybe we'll find more non-knockdown combos and team synergy (I know that's all I've been doing the last couple days). But I think we're stuck with the rest.

my favorite thing so far is when it showed me throw you, then rolled back to show that you were never near me to throw in the strangest animation I have ever seen

actually my friend reached it for me, lost me 400 points over the course of 10 matches today

CvS2 is my second favorite fighting game

it's actually got some similarities to SFxT except when you get up close it doesn't become Marvel

and yeah Cammy is really good. Combofiend ran a Cammy/Ken/Rolento team for a while I think, and it was pretty cool.
