Hot seat is fun with the right group of people. You can play any game, not just multiplayer games, which is a plus, you don't have to be playing all the time and you can sit back and watch other people play, it's just generally a more chill way to game than multiplayer. LAN play is great, but there's a time and place for everything.

I guess if you're riffing the game or something it could be fun, but I just can't imagine inviting a bunch of friends over to play, say, Okami with me. I just feel like I'd rather do something where we're all doing something.
