I've been on a Final Fantasy kick lately and it's got me thinking about compiling my All star team. I'm thinking 8 total characters to compile two battle parties of four.
This is my only limitation ; a permanent hero character from a numbered FF game.
Party one: Squall Leonhart Lightning Adelbert Steiner Setzer
Party two: Balthier Auron Serah Ferron Zell Dincht
Squall Leonhart - Because every group needs a leader.
Setzer Gabbiani - Someone to attract the ladies. Also provides the necessary airship. (honorable mention to Cid Highwind for this spot)
Yuna - We have a heavy hitter and a Gambler class. No we need someone who can really specialize in magicks. She will naturally be well versed in white magick, but could also have learned offensive spells as well (hooray sphere grid). Also she is a summoner, this definitely adds some major "oomph" to their combat possibilities. Additionally she provides moral grounding. Squall is definitely the leader here, but with only Setzer in his team so far he needs someone more responsible to make it easier for him to do the right thing.
Yuffie Kisaragi - There are a few reasons to use Yuffie to round out Party 1. The first is that we don't have any strong (non-magical) ranged damage. We have squall providing strong damage and acting as a bruiser out front. We have Setzer providing some good close range DPS with his daggers. We have Yuna to cover everything magical (and summons!) but we don't have anything to pick someone off at ranged, really. Yuffie provides this. I think her attitude would also lend itself towards being in a party with Sezter. They are both fairly luck reliant as well so I think she fits the party as well. She is a very driven character and so while Yuna will provide the moral compass, Yuffie will provide additional drive to keep them going. (honorable mention to Balthier, but we already have a Main Character in group 1)
Will work on Group 2 later I guess.
So the 4 characters in group 2 are still in the same 'party' as group 1, but they just don't fight together then?
Since this is a hypothetical, I figured separating them into two parties would build some clarity of a first team all stars vs. second team all stars type thing.

But i mean is it the sort of thing where all 8 of them are saving the world, they just split up while they do it?
Need to know if team 2 is aware of team 1 or if they are separate entities.
