Castlevania HD came out on PS3 this past September. Also it's incredible. Why don't you count it? It's better than most "real" Castlevania games, or whatever metric you are using to judge these.

What are you talking about? The reason I said "if that counts" is because it wasn't a new game, and the topic obviously meant "Why aren't they making new Castlevanias?"

That was my mistake then. From what I've seen, Castlevania fans don't any version of HD at ALL as being a part of the franchise for some unknown reason.

Probably because it's rather different. While it's a fun game to play in online multiplayer, its singleplayer is lacking and mostly recycled content anyway (old bosses, stripped-down versions of old PCs). Most of the Castlevania fans I know played this one extensively, but if you weren't into online multiplayer (I'm not, for instance), the game doesn't offer much.
Seriously what the hell? All they have to do is make another SotN.
What do you think all the GBA and DS games were? If they're not enough like SotN for you, you should just replay SotN.

I'm just upset that I bought the game on the 360 before it came out on the PS3, and found out there was no local multiplayer, and then they added it for the PS3.
It's just argggghhhh.

yeah I played HoD with my bro, we'd often split up and go do different things so we'd be trying to follow along seeing our characters while the screen was pretty much zoomed out showing the entire map of the level
or like in this one level where there's this shortcut but it has breakable blocks so if you fail and the block breaks you can't try again, I'd go through it but the blocks broke so my brother couldn't come up, so we played the whole level completely separate ahhh
