Mafia is different, KCF. With mafia, most of the legwork goes into A) Making sure the setup is good and B) Making sure the game runs smoothly. And given the nature of mafia, it takes a lot less work (Votals, Flavor, Night Actions) to make sure it goes smoothly than everything that goes into this game. Though on the other hand, if we were to run another of this game, there would be a lot less work in making the setup because Haguile so generously did that already

Because Maria's role was sorted before yours was. So...pure random chance!

Talking about the setup, I'm currently making version 1.0 of the Gamemaster's rulebook, based on everything I learned from the test game. This thing is looking ridiculously long.

The way I'm laying out instructions it should be pretty easy for anyone to run the game. It should still be a bit harder to run than mafia, but hopefully not much.

So far, here's a few balance fixes I have prepared:

--Wild Animal Tamer is now considered the murderer if his animal kills anyone at all. He also has a cage to keep his animal at if he wishes to. This means no "Was the lion ordered to do X or not" tangents anymore. To balance it out, the Tamer now has near divine control of his animal.

--Psychics can receive messages containing up to 70% of the original words in the dead man's message as opposed to 40%.

--Super High School Level Spy now has a spy watch to watch his cameras with, so he doesn't have to rely on televisions.

The messages were only delivered during the day, by the way, and with some decent delay between them being transmitted and being received.

That headache Dexter got during day 1 was getting a psychic vision. So even if Dexter was alive, he wouldn't be able to get anything in time.

Again, "don't be a dick" clause. Plus there's a minimum of different words that need to be used in the sentence. During this game, when Dexter got his vision, SSBM told him Sceptile was the culprit and to look at his cameras for evidence of that. What he got instead was that he should go to the A/V room. It can be very misleading.

I feel like the wrestler could've had more mileage out of his role had he actually been able to challenge people for the day time too. It's pretty hard for it to be used feasibly since people would know they'd meet up with them, so it's better to be used as a role to make sure somebody can't be somewhere.

Other balance-y stuff... the game basically turned into "who could trick who into getting the most strikes?" which I'm not sure is most effective. I don't have any ideas on how to fix that.

I still think that some kind of system with ghetto stats might work out well. Like a five point system. For instance, a wrestler could be:

Strength: 5
Speed: 3
Stealth: 2
etc.:

Then maybe list skills and inventory after that. That way it can help decide what he can or can't do a little better.

I felt the same way on the strike system. Every murderer instantly has multiple accomplices.

In a smaller game with 8 or 9 players it doesn't really feel needed since there are only going to be two or three murders anyway.

Wasn't there technically a day between the two trials, even if no one was allowed to do anything?

But psychic was an incredibly good role, I probably shouldn't have thrown it away by lion hunting.

Yeah, I have a special surprise prepared for the wrestler role. The new incarnation will basically give the pro wrestler a popularity based bonus. If he's "over" with the crowd(players) he'll be stronger during fights, get items from Monobear, plus a few other things. If the wrestler is not "over" with the crowd...yeaaaah. The way this is measured is literally through votes. It's a quirky role post-reform.

I think a do-or-die system could fix that in theory. The problem would be that, well, games could end really fast like that. I think maybe something like "every time somebody takes a strike something bad happens to everyone" could be a potential way around that issue though.

If I really get somebody who'll help run things, I'll do something like this, yeah. Party line will be that Monobear dislikes stupidity, so he punishes everybody for it to make sure the dunces are taken care of, one way or another. Stuff like say, sealing the cafeteria for two or three days to force people to scrounge for food or take penalties, going up in severity the harder people derp.
