I'm torn here. I honestly can't remember the last time I paid full retail price for a game. I virtually always pick up my games either on sale or used. In fact, I think the last one I paid full price for was probably Final Fantasy XII.
I know Xenoblade will be awesome. I know there are people on this board that already have it and love it. But what are the chances of it going on sale? What are the chances of even being able to find it if you don't pre-order it? Do I wait or just pre-order the game?

The chances of a significant price drop anywhere early on are slim.
That being said, the occasional $10 off sale a month after release wouldn't be surprising, or it packaged in some buy it and get a free giftcard deals.
However, it's Gamestop only so I don't see any of that happening.

It's only sold at gamestop and nintendo.com, so expect a sale never
..... this is what I am afraid of. The Last Story, which looks equally awesome, will at least be on Amazon - so that one might have a better chance at a sale.......Also, that free Xenoblade artbook does sound pretty sweet. I may just be leaning towards pre-ordering....

Menji76 posted... Gamestop told me they weren't selling any copies that weren't pre-ordered. So I don't know if that means you can't sell them back.
Could just mean they're only ordering enough copies to cover pre-orders or the shipment is expected to be so small there aren't enough copies for anything other than pre-orders.
Will probably sell out too, at least going from the limited stocks and its multiple sell outs in Europe.
Actually, I could imagine it would be very hard to get a hold of. The only reason it's easy to get here in the UK now is because Nintendo gave it a bigger shipment that actually went out to more than just dedicated game stores. With Nintendo's exclusive deal in America, don't expect that to happen. You may have to wait a while to get it.
So yes, basically.

I'm trying to preorder right now because it seems good and if it's rare, I can definitely resell it for mega profitzz later, and the art book is good too. Also there is AT LEAST one Shimomura song in it, so that's enough for me.
But damn this gamestop site sucks ass... I hate nintendo so much for making me do this

Shimomura was the lead composer for the entire project (though there were quite a few involved). So there's quite a lot of her work on there.
And believe it or not, it's not even the best the game has to offer. ACE+ so good.

I'm nearly convinced. I don't want to miss this game and the general consensus seems to be that if you don't pre-order the game, you likely won't find it....
