He always bugs me about my music being too loud, and I constantly turn it down. I turned it so low that it's barely audible and he demanded that I use headphones and I stood my ground. We had a big argument where he said a bunch of people hated me or some ****.
I used headphones because this was a stupid argument to have. But if he's seriously going to make such a big deal about the use of headphones I'm not living with him.
Me and some bros were getting a house next year, and he was tagging along. Well the lease isn't signed, and I am not letting him on it, since I am the only one he knows from the house.
Hopefully he can find a house by next year. Not my problem anymore.
No one in the apartment complains except him. My music playing has been drastically cut since he complained and is now non existant due to headphones.
I never played it at an unreasonable level, but if it does get to that, I can have a talk with my friends without it devolving to them saying nasty **** about m.e

Why are you assuming I was being obnoxious when no one else in my apartment complained. I have known my bros for several years and they won't kick me out just because you can hear the music if you press your ear really hard against my door.

Because plotting to make your roommate homeless for such a silly reason makes you seem like an obnoxious person.

No, I am not living with him next year, because we're going to constantly get into fights. If he's going to say some of the crap he said over music being played too loud then I am not going to bother to live with him.

This is important.
Usually everything. I'm listening to a lot of indie artists lately, and some 90s songs.
KJH posted... Man, why wouldn't you just listen to your music with headphones almost always?
It seems kinda pointless to play it through speakers unless it were a party.
Um, ow? No? Headphones and earbuds of all varieties hurt my ears. I never wear headphones unless it's literally a physical necessity, and even then, I hesitate over whether or not to listen to anything at all in that case.
And before you accuse me of misuse, I mean they hurt my physical ear, not my ear drum, although after a long enough period that can happen, too.
I'm going to be constructive here instead - I used to also despise headphones and I still can't wear most types (including earbuds) because I find them uncomfortable to the point of painfulness, but I would suggest trying out a pair of circumaural headphones and see if they do you any better. I personally own the Razer Carcharias headset (http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169415800) and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It has completely stopped any noise complaints I might have gotten, it is comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time, and I find the sound quality is actually superior to my old speakers (which admittedly were not top-of-the-line, but headphones outperforming any speakers is worthy of note in my opinion).
