I'm playing the DS remake right now, and it's incredible. You guys were right - this might be the pinnacle of Kirby games (though Amazing Mirror was a damn masterpiece as well; it's a tough call).

I really like how The Great Cave Offensive is essentially a precursor to AM's gameplay. It's so fun!

Why does everyone like the Metroid style ones so much?

I think it's annoying to not be able to go back and forth from the same rooms.

Super Star Ultra was my introduction to the character that had so intrigued me in Smash Bros. (Holy crap, it's already been four years! That's just... wow)

The word 'flawless' gets tossed around a lot, but it probably does apply here. When I play these games, it fills me with an insatiable glee that I just can't suppress. I would rank the games that I've played as follows:

1. Adventure
2. Super Star Ultra
3. Epic Yarn
4. 64: The Crystal Shards
5. Canvas Curse
6. Nightmare in Dreamland
7. Amazing Mirror
8. Dream Land 3

But really, they're all amazing!

What didn't you like about Dream Land 3?

I haven't played it yet, but Dream Land 2 was pretty great, so I was hoping 3 would be more of that.

KRTD is really great as far as mainline Kirbies go. One of the few with co-op, as well.
As for spinoffs, I like Epic Yarn quite a bit, but Mass Attack is severely underrated.

Dream Land 3 is at the bottom because it's the most difficult and I'm terrible at games. >_>

I only played a little of Kirby Christ Superstar, but what I did play was fun. Then I had to trade it in for some reason. I don't remember why.

Kirby Super Star comes very close to being an ideal game. It pretty much hits every note perfectly. From the diverse game mechanics to diverse power abilities and fun co-op, it just...works beautifully.

And yeah, mirror was one of my favorites to muck about with. A bit weak offensively, but it has a ballin' shield :3

What didn't you like about Dream Land 3?

I haven't played it yet, but Dream Land 2 was pretty great, so I was hoping 3 would be more of that.

As someone who 100% complete Dream Land 3 (I think), it's fine as a successor to Dream Land 2, but it feels really slow-paced compared to Super Star and only having one attack per ability again was kind of a let down.

But if you liked Dream Land 2, you should be able to like Dream Land 3, there's co-op, more animal partners to change things up, the art style is pretty nice, it consistently has nice calm music, and there's an extra "mission" in each level to make things interesting.

I love the Metroid-style ones. They just feel so... fresh. Plus, Amazing Mirror had incredible level design.

Sakurai is really talented; the guy designed Meteos, Melee, and the early Kirby games. It's a shame that he's become kind of a joke due to Brawl. :\
