splatters is OK. It's clearly well made, but it just wasn't pulling me in.

Meanwhile, World Gone Sour... is kind of awesome. Platforming wise it isn't up there with the best, but it is competent, you also get a lot of moves. The world aesthetic is really cool, being a little sour patch kid in a BIG WORLD. And you have an amazing narrator to top it off. He told me to buy the game because he still has stories from the 60s to tell that I need to hear about. I will spend $5 on this.

I went to the Skullgirls website but all I found was a movelist, no combo lists. According to the tutorials, the combo chains are different for each character rather than just a magic series that's the same for everyone, so a list of them would be helpful. Still, at least from the chains shown in the tutorials, it does seem to follow some basic magic-series rules, so a little playing around in training will probably reveal what works for each character pretty easily.

These don't seem to be MK9 chains where one character might chain three strikes from the same button together, while another chains four alternating strikes back and forth between two buttons, which would be awfully obtuse for a game with no combo lists.

the lore is bland, but the world itself and combat are good.

the faction and main story are also pretty good.

I dunno, I didn't find the combat to be that great.

Like, it's okay. But it's not amazing, maybe I bought into Curt Schilling's hype too much pre-release.

I suppose I'm not far enough to really judge the story, it seems okay I guess, but the game doesn't seem to be giving me enough reason to care about it.

if that was the case I'd be saying how amazing Mutant Mudds is every day of the week, but I didn't care much for that game either.

I was down on Fez before the quick look but it looked pretty neat there. I'll try the demo tomorrow.
