That was some ending.

you actually thought escaping with the most cowardly dude in the game and leaving everyone else behind would be the intended ending?

But yeah there are two more endings, but I suggest not looking up the "good" ending until you've done the other one

well the main draw is the music, but I think that the atmosphere of the area is pretty neat when you consider the music + visual design/backgrounds + the psuedo-wind effect.

fortunately he and Misery have fairly simple patterns, so with a little practice you should be able to beat them with minimal damage and be ready for the next part.

You can also recover some health if you talk to the Mimigas in the cages a few times. One of them will make hearts appear over all their heads.

That just sounds like they're making the endings in general easier to get. You can refill your health before you start the true ending anyways.

Just don't get smashed by the rocks.

I'm pretty sure this is everything, someone let me know if I forgot something.

Step 1: Prevent Curly's death. You don't have to do anything for this until you get to the first battle with the Core. Before speaking to her in the final room there, find the Tow Rope which is sitting on the ground on the far right side of the floor. After the fight is over and she gives you the air bubble, use the rope to carry her body.

Step 2: Take her to the little cabin in the waterway. For some reason I have a hard time with this part; I often miss the jump to the cabin and there's no going back to it once you miss the jump so you'll have to reload if you screw up.

Step 3: Drain the water from her body. Put her in the bed, then read the computer and bookshelf in the cabin a few times until you learn how to do it. Make sure to take her with you when you leave. Her body will be swept away when you beat the fish, but she'll survive.

Step 4: You know the part where the Professor is at the bottom of that shaft and gives you the Booster 0.8? It's difficult, but it is possible to make the jump across that chasm without any boost. You can use the machine gun if you have it at lvl3 but if you want the best weapon in the game you won't have the machine gun at this part. If you do this right you'll get the much better Booster 2.0 from the Professor before you return to the Egg Corridor.

Step 5: In the Outer Wall there is a not-so-hidden room which contains a timer item. I don't know if this is actually mandatory but if you can't get it then you know you screwed up somewhere.

Step 6: You'll find an amnesiac Curly in the Plantation. Talk to her and the Cthulhu with her a few times until he tells you what you're supposed to do.

Step 7: Go back to Mimiga Village (teleport shenanigans make this faster) and fight the Ma Pignon mushroom in the now-accessible room inside the graveyard. He'll give you a bum item at first so check your inventory and look at the item, then talk to him again.

Step 8: Bring this back to Curly. Talk to her a few more times, at which point she'll reveal your character's name (if you don't already know it), and give you the Iron Bond. If you have that and the Booster 2.0, then you should be good to go. You'll know you did it right if the "Final Cave" or whatever that's called after you ride the elevator thing is a different, harder room than before.

Step 9: During the escape after beating the Undead Core, go inside that little building. There should be a hole in the floor which will take you to the final area. Good luck!

As for the best weapon in the game, you need to not trade with Curly, and then don't speak to the cockroach guy sitting at the store counter in the labyrinth. If you return to the Merchant whom you first stole the Polar Star from once you can get there (via Booster), he'll upgrade it to the Spur if you still have it. If you talk to the cockroach guy instead, he'll give you a different weapon but it's not as good. However, if you talk to him after you get the Spur, he gives you a different item. It's not super-useful but it does help a bit.

What Wazzup said, 'cept he got the order wrong, I think.

- Desert: [Optional, but heavily recommended] Refuse the machine gun Curly offers. Keep your Pole Star.

- Labyrinth (1): [Optional, but heavily recommended] Refuse the trade with the cockroach guy. Keep your Pole Star.

- Labyrinth (2): Skip the Booster. When you see Professor Booster fall down, don't go see him and jump past the chasm. You should barely make it.

- Core Room: Once you activated all the door and Curly moves to the actual boss room, don't talk to her right away. Examine the floor in the far right corner - you should find a tow rope. Once you beat the boss, interact with Curly and you'll have the option of taking her with you with the Tow Rope.

- Waterway: Go to the cabin and once you're there, do what Wazzup said.

- Mimiga Village: Before going to the Egg Corridor?, Prof Booster should come in and give you the Booster 2.0. Also, if you still have your Pole Star, use the Booster to go to the very top of Mimiga Village, back into the first cave in the game. Talk to the guy at the end of that cave and he'll give you the Spur. Take it.

- Outer Wall: Timer item is not mandatory, but might as well get it.

- Plantation: Do what Wazzup said.

- Return to Mimiga Village and do what Wazzup said. The Ma Pignon will be a bit annoying, since you'll have to answer a few questions before he even gives you the fake item (which you should then examine, and talk to him again).

- Plantation: Go speak with Curly until she gives you the Iron Bond.

- Last Cave (Hidden): If you did everything correctly, the Last gave will be much harder. Good luck!

- Prefab House: After the final battle with the Undead Core, as you're escaping, you should be able to get into the small house. Whatever you do, do NOT save unless you have full health. Do not. Redo the final fights if you lost some HP on the way to the Prefab House. Trust me on that. Anyway, once you're there with full health, save, and then jump in the hole on the left.

Oh, is the Booster before the Core? It's been a while, I guess I got mixed up there, plus I haven't gotten the Booster 0.8 for probably the past five playthroughs.

And as for that tough jump when bypassing the Booster, there's a small marking on the platform you start on which is a perfect marking for where you need to jump to make it across.

Getting the Snake instead of Spur is also reasonable. It's probably marginally less useful overall, but it'll make runs of the timed final area faster if you care at all about speed.
