Fatal Frame 1/2 were kind of boring too. Actually managed to finish Fatal Frame 1. Gave up on 2. Gave up on Oblivion.

I'm really not sure how this happens, unless it's specifically the setting or something. Oblivion had so much more content than Fallout, since by nature Fallout's map had to be kind of empty.

Oblivion was pretty terrible.

No point making a huge world if you're going to fill with indistinguishable level-scaled caves.

Here's another cave, with some more bandits, not entirely unlike the bandits in the other 50 caves you've been to. Here's another Oblivion Gate, remarkably similar to the previous Oblivion Gates, and the gate before that and the gate before that and the gate before that. Here's the land of Cyrodiil, spelunker's paradise, yours to explore. Have fun with that.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I did too. Skyrim is a much better game. But I don't think Oblivion was awful.

I've tried many times, but I've never been able to get far into Morrowind before getting bored. Fallout 3, though, is my favorite non-MGS game of all time. (FNV was awesome too; probably would be about as high if it hadn't been so glitchy at first)

Also has the best NPC in any video game ever : Divayth Fyr.

Oblivion was a decent game -- better than Morrowind where mechanics were concerned -- but dungeon diving was NOT where it was at for Oblivion. I could level a lot of different criticisms at the game, but it was overall a good game. Howeer, Morrowind has a much more interesting and well-put-together world, and Skyrim is just generally all-around better. So while I may not like seeing negative comments leveled at Oblivion, I'm not going to defend it TOO hard.

It's not even just how boring the game is. The layout of everything is possibly the worst thing I've ever experienced in a game. Is there no way to organize things? Like there's no way to sort your items or anything? Maybe there is and I'm unaware of it. Had the organization not been so bad I might have kept playing.

I thought Oblivion was great. Skyrim pretty much improved on it in most aspects, but for the time it was a great game. Not perfect by any means, but I had lots of fun with it.
