srpg/dating sim. it's very much so an anime game, which is why we never got it. has robots though! lots of robots. and chicks. lots of chicks.

Yeah, this. It was actually the game that got me into dating sims and visual novels. I really enjoyed it and it had a lot of fun segments. The battle parts were not great, but they didn't take anything from the game and never usually lasted too long either.
I wish more of the series would see a western release =(

SCEA keeps blocking the release of other games in the series, so it probably won't happen.

The one we got was based on a alternate 1920s New York where you beat up evil in steam powered robots with a cowgirl, a mexican, a black lawyer, a trap, and someone else I don't know because I didn't get very far in the game.

Most of the game however is a dating sim with tons of QTEs.

There's the Sakura Wars 1 LP on SA as well, which has been going on for years and still hasn't finished.
It's a good read, but be prepared to wait a long time for new updates.
