Or at least I had forgotten about it. Been playing TTYD for the first time in years. Twilight Town and Keelhaul Key in particular are pretty irritating in the amount of backtracking they have. I remembered Chapter 4 was my least favorite in the game, but I thought it was just because of Doopliss.

Oh well, at least the Glitz Pit and Bowser are still awesome. Gameplay is still lots of fun, too.

Well, Keelhaul Key isn't as bad because the area isn't as big. But at the beginning of the chapter, you have to go find Bobbery, go back and talk to Flavio, get him a coconut so he'll give you the Chuckola Cola, go give that to Bobbery, return to camp, and then head to the cave to find the treasure.

My least favorite chapter may have been the X-Naut stronghold one while my favorite was either the Glitz Pit or the Excess Express

I am always baffled at the love Ch 4 gets because of that backtracking. And it's not normal backtracking either. It's running like 6 times through narrow passages that are often in the distance and hard to see well enough to avoid enemies in. And you don't have a god damn partner for a lot of it. And the enemies are HYPER CLEFTS. AND DAYZEES WHICH ARE ACTUALLY GOOD AT PUTTING THINGS TO SLEEP IN THIS GAME. WHEN YOU'RE ALONE AND HAVE NO PARTNER TO WAKE YOU UP. And even once you get Vivian, she's still no help against the Hyper Clefts.

Thankfully, the only thing I clearly remember about Chapter 6 is the penguin detective mistaking Mario for Luigi, so maybe it won't be so bad for me! But I'm sure I'll remember some of the stuff as I play like I have with other chapters.

Also Peach gets naked in this game more than I remember.

Glitzpit is the best thing. Goombella is the best battle partner with Vivian and Bobbery coming close.

Also I gotta say, probably the weakest point of TTYD is its main villain. Grodus is so generically evil and boring that it's almost painful to watch every time he's on screen. I am kind of surprised that in a game with such colorful and fun characters, the main villain turned out to be so incredibly dull.

Eh, I still think TTYD is better than Paper Mario because they improved upon the gameplay in just about every conceivable way, and the partners as a whole are better.

Grodus is alright. Crump is pretty great, though.

6 > 3 > 7 > 5 > 1 > 8 > 4 > 2

I really like 4 because of Doopliss and it's pretty clever, but that backtracking is sooooooooo bad. 6 and 3 are both really good and creative. 7 is just fun and just a great place.

TTYD is amazing, but I think PM1 is better. Both are amazing, amazing games, though.
