What a great day of hockey. Washington and Florida both in position to win their series and thus setting up the greatest playoffs ever, as well as the Rangers showing they're overrated and Chicago keeping themselves alive.
I wish I could say something about the Blues... but who cares? Really...
From: TheKnightOfNee | #413 Also wow, if the East series all finish with the current teams that are up winning, the highest seed from here on out would be... Florida.
Worst.
Hope Devils make a comeback and win. Can't believe the freakin' Panthers are actually getting the better of them.

Two years ago, wasn't the 4-seed the only favorite who actually won in the east? Also keep in mind that although Florida is the higher seed, New Jersey was clearly the favorite in this series...

I'm bored so I'm going to throw up another guess as to what I think the U.S. Olympic team might look like in 2014 - assuming of course NHLers will be involved. Line combinations don't really mean much as I'm more interested in the players and not what combinations will be used. Positions are as close to accurate as I can get while fitting in the specific players.
Suter - Yandle Carlson - J. Johnson E. Johnson - Shattenkirk (Other possibilities - Orpik, Byfuglien, Goligoski, Carle, Fowler, McDonagh, Leddy, Blum,
Quick Miller Schneider (Alternate - Howard)
Coaches: HC - Dan Bylsma AC - John Tortorella AC - Doug Weight
The D is too offensive minded I know so Burke will probably replace one of the Johnsons or Shattenkirk with someone like Orpik. I have no idea how the bigger ice will impact things so I tried to go with a reasonably quick team with the size that Burke will no doubt be looking for.
Obviously the team won't be as impressive on paper as Canada and won't have the offensive firepower that Russia will (though we saw where that got them in 2010) but I think it looks solid and will definitely challenge another medal. Goaltending is a strength of the team and the US will need another Miller-like performance to challenge for gold again.

SmartMuffin posted... From: GunMage | #395 We could actually see Lundqvist, Thomas, and Brodeur all out in the first round. Would never have believed that beforehand. Teaser! If the Rangers lose this series, you can expect to see a "Lundqvist = Nabokov" argument post coming from me!
This argument would be moronic. Lundqvist has had no support.
Also if Ottawa vs. Florida is the next round I really like our chances of making the ECF.

Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can? Cincinnati Reds - Ottawa Senators - Atlanta Falcons
Oh and Ray Shero letting go of Max Talbot and then letting them sign Jagr are two of the worst things he's ever done. Top to bottom this Penguins organization failed this season. Not one of them should feel anything but total embarrassment.
From: ESY16 | #430 Is there a specific reason that the Flyers fans are booing every obvious icing call against their team?
After watching more of the game I have my answer. Flyers fans are upholding the proud Philly tradition of being the worst fans of their respective sport. Thankfully for them the team they cheer for is worthy of making it to the next round.
