blog faqs tiem
and no, I didn't do a challenge or something
but anyways, my bro's income tax came in today and apparently he got quite alot
so after covering some bills for the house, he invited me to go to San Antonio
today was my day off so yea, I agreed. On the way over there, he explained how he was very impressed at how I've been making extra money on the side by buying and reselling games and he believes I could have a great thing going here. so he told me hes taking me to San Antonio and we were gonna search every Pawn Shop and Game Store and have me look for cheap games have me pick out the ones that have value so we can resell it and he'll take care of all of the costs with his income tax money. Then we'll divide the profits
but first, he said we were gonna go to a buffet. So I was like YES, GOLDEN CORRAL ALL YOU CAN EAT YES but then he took me to this spot called Lulu's
apparently this place was in Man vs Food because of their abnormally large Cinnamon Buns! (He meant a buffet of Cinnamon Buns btw)
I'm too lazy to upload a pic so heres one off of Google
me and him split one and we only could eat a quarter of it, each. I can handle alot of food, I can handle alot of sugar, but apparently Cinnamon is my brick wall
but yea, I was excited about that since this place was on TV and I never thought I'd go to a place that was covered in a show
do you ever watch one of these food shows and be all like "Man I want to go there." well actually going there is pretty cool too!
anyways, Long story short, we spent about 10 hours finding pawn shops, raiding their games and going on to the next one
some had good hauls, others had none at all.
we ended up getting around 20 items
games of note are:
some Mass Effect 1 for a couple of bucks each
Sealed Copies of Super Robot Taisen OG Saga for the DS
a Castlevania GBA game and Minish cap for a couple of bucks each
a SFXT Fightstick for around 100 thanks to my Gamestop discount
a couple of sealed copies of Sakura Wars on PS2
Grandia II and KotOR for...obviously, couple of bucks each
and so on
he told me that even if we can make a 5 dollar profit, get the game cause they'll add up.
one of the last places we hit up was a Game shop that we found accidentally. we went in and MAN, this place was AWESOME!
old school posters and advertisements everywhere, games for any system you can think of, lots of shelves filled with strategy guides, and stuff like that
the inner geek in me was going crazy.
they even had a Double Dragon Poster that I swear I almost grabbed and ran off with.
anywho, I started chit chatting with the owner and I asked him what he did to start this place up
he gave me some specifics but he told me you have to know the business first. He told me he was a manager at a Gamestop at one point. I told him that I currently work at one, he asked me where I worked. I told him and he said "NO S***, THATS WHERE I WAS A MANAGER AT!"
apparently he hired the current managers there and we started talking about them for awhile
anyways, I told him that I would love to open up a shop like this back home, and he said once I start looking into it, hit him up so he can help me out!
so with my brother backing me up and this dude willing to help me with the beginnings of it, I might open up my own store in the future! a long way down the road future though, but still
The thought is pretty exciting. Doing something like this would be totally rad. I already help make my current gamestop better than other gamestops, if I had my own, it'll be the coolest game joint ever!
